Every good GW team for the last 30 years has shared one feature: International players.
Find a good GW team and you'll find 1 or more excellent international players.
It seems to be our one real advantage. the talent rich DMV I guess is a #2 but recruiting the best DMV talent has been up and down.
I'd like to see someone on staff with international recruiting experience. Do we have that guy? Are we recruiting internationally?

More specifically, international players who are playing at prep schools or high schools in the U.S. The days of an Ed Meyers having to have to fly off to Nigeria to discover a Yinka Dare are over (and even Yinka prepped for a year at Milford before formally joining GW, though it was GW who orchestrated this). The great success GW has had with international players has largely and more recently come within the US...Pato at Montverde, Kevin at Montrose Christian, Pops at St. Augustine, Mikic played in Charlotte, Regis played at Laurinburg Institute, then LSU before transferring to GW.
Recruiting these players on the benefits of a strong education in a truly international city is essential. It is a competitive advantage which very few schools can offer.
