Yes, what a shameful loss by a now 10-3 Texas team to the #6 team in the country on its home floor. Baylor has already beaten Nova, Zona and Butler this season. Baylor is 82-19 at home over the past few seasons. As for Texas, they only seemed to get maligned here by one poster, and only after they lose.
Everyone here gets it Dude. Gonzaga--good, Texas--bad. See? Got it.

BTW Gonzaga had some close games with such powerhouses as Portland and Pepperdine recently.

BC, I respect the ref for not calling the foul, he was standing right in front of Boeheim and the Syracuse bench when the play happened. You'd assume that most refs will feel the pressure of being in front of a raucous crowd and make the call for the home team.
George Mason is now playing at home against VCU on NBC SportsNetwork - George Mason was down by 11 at the half and have cut the deficit to 6 early in the 2nd half

Butler is #5 KenPom and Dayton is #7.
One Former A10 team and one current A10 team, not too shabby! Throw in Xavier and Temple we'd be a helluva league!

I guess the new standard for 16-1 Gonzaga, the AP #1 team in the nation is they must blowout every opponent, but for former Powerhouse Texas turned wannabe bubble program, just losing 59-43 to Baylor is a step in the right direction?
Gonzaga landed their first ever top 10 recruit, 5 star this weekend. Not a bad start to the new year, ranked #1 in the nation in the polls and milestone recruit. If you can do that in Spokane, albeit over 20+ years one small step forward at a time, you can do it anywhere. Incredible stuff.

Steve Pikiell and Karl Hobbs duo have Rutgers looking NCAA tourney bound.
They have a NET of 29, work to do but a very good shot at an NCAA bid
Offline
Dude, when Steve and Karl were first hired, I gave a prediction to my die-hard Rutgers friend that they would have Rutgers as a .500 or better in-conference team within five years. This is year 4 and with the Big 10 being as strong as it is, it's hard to say that this will definitely be the year. But unlike their dreadful football program, the former GW duo continues to make headway in Piscataway.

One would have to think Hobbs now in line to return to head coaching ranks.
Impressive work being done at Rutgers it has been a long time since they found success.
Schiano is back the football program will be too soon

North Carolina has suffered significant injuries. Local Anthony Harris went down with an ACL. Cole Anthony has been out. Jeremiah Francis is coming back off of injury and Leaky Black has been hurt off and on. Also they lost Sterling Manley to a knee injury.
This wasn't going to a be a great Carolina team anyway but the injuries have made it a bad one. However, Roy probably has his best recruiting class in many years coming in 2020 so don't feel too sorry for the Tar Heels.

Pikiell and Hobbs take down #20 Penn St!!
Time to start looking at some dancing shoes for the ex-GW duo!

GWRising, even with the injuries, you'd expect a blue-blood like North Carolina to be better than this since they are able to recruit and sign the best of the best.
Rutgers is now in 2nd place in the Big 10 at 3-1!! GWMayem, I thought Pikiell would be fired at this point, not because he's a bad coach, but because it seems like an impossible place to win when you look at it's dreadful recent history(Rutgers last NCAA tournament appearance was the 1990-1991 season) and they now compete in the Big 10.
Maryland got pounded at Iowa last night, they only scored 49 points, this was after it appeared as if they had turned the corner, but it looks like the same old Turgeon Terps. They'll be a 4 or 5 seed and lose in the 2nd round. Former GW recruiting target Luka Garza had another dominant game. I think GW was recruiting Garza harder than Maryland and Georgetown, that shows what they thought of his ability.

Former players doing well.
Central Florida was on TV. Lost to Cincinnati. But Colin Smith was The Man for UCF.
Announcer said he was "magnificent". 6'11 240. Playing against a 7'1 guy, he had 18 or 20 points, 8 rebounds or more and at least 4 assists.
Jordan Roland recently had 28 points in a losing Northeastern effort.

Kevin Marfo at Quinnipiac averaging about a double double. 9.5 points and a whopping 13.2
rebounds.

Thomas when Rutgers had their big win vs #20 Penn St, they noted the first big game between the two since the 1989 A10 championship game! Man, how things change
Shorthanded Gtown hunge pretty well with Nova on the road, and they've played better since all that player Exodus early in the year

To anyone (and you know who you are) who harped incessantly about how Lonergan recruited one good class followed by recruiting taking a precipitous fall thereafter, your position has officially become embarrassing. After the Pato/Joe/Kethan/Kevin class (joined by Zeke) came:
Transfers: Mo Creek, Tyler
NBA Player: Yuta
Transfers: Jorgensen started for Butler, Bolden starts on South Carolina, Marfo is the second leading rebounder in the country, Roland is the 10th leading scorer in the country, Smith leads UCF in scoring and blocks, and is 2nd in rebounding.

Richmond at Davidson 7 ESPNU
VCU at #13 Dayton 8 CBS SportsNetwork - Dayton and VCU appeared to be the clear-cut best 2 teams in the A10 until VCU lost to Rhode Island at home last weekend. Maybe it's just Dayton who is way better than everyone in the conference. Obi Toppin rolled his ankle in Dayton's last game, so there's a slight chance he could be hobbled or miss tonight's game.
#17 Maryland at Wisconsin 9 ESPN2 - Wisconsin has been playing very well of late, so this could be another perplexing loss for the Terps.

Thomas, did the Rhode Island win at VCU put them back in the mix? They have a pretty good resume, sprinkled in with a terrible loss or two
Great showdown tonight VCU vs Dayton!
Offline
The Dude, Good point!! Maybe Rhode Island is an elite team too(they do have a "Big 3"), so it wasn't necessarily a bad loss for VCU. Coming into that game, I'm assuming that Dayton and VCU had the A10's best metric numbers by far, so it seemed like both of them would run through the league with only 1 or 2 conference losses
