Buchanan says he's making his college decision this Saturday at 3 PM. Right in the middle of our game against Fordham... In fairness it's in the middle of VT's game on Saturday too

It won't be GW ... that's the word.

weird timing to make the announcement based on GW and VT schedule...

Not if you are not going to VT or GW.

So with Buchanan not coming, do you think he’s still trying to land an impact freshman or just focusing on transfers because he needs guys who can contribute immediate?

I think it will likely be a combination of both. I think you can pretty much assume that there will be at least one defection (no I don't have any specific information but in this day and age it would be amazing if not one player left).
Given that there were 5 players recognized on senior day, I would assume none of them come back (yes, three of them are walk-ons but just mentioning it because I imagine we will likely add a walk-on or two as well).
So assuming no defections (listed by class not by eligibility)
Adams GR
Bamisile JR
Bishop SR
Brown JR
Dean SR
Freeman SO
Harvey SO
Nixon SO
Samuels SR
West - FR
Warner SO
Talipov SO
Assuming no defections - that leaves 3 open scholarships, But as I said it would not surprise me if JC has anywhere from 4-5.

How surprised would you be if Freeman, Bishop or Bamissile transferred? And we all would be shocked if Nixon returns.

Not sure he would've stayed given the coaching change, but he would've had ample PT here playing in front of friends and family.

Mike Young said after the win that the #Hokies plan to redshirt freshmen Darren Buchanan Jr. and Patrick Wessler.
