I hiked the entire trail in 1978 and didn't think much about GW basketball that spring and summer! Those were the gray days of Coach Sloan.
1978 was Bob Tallent, unless you were talking about Richmond, in which case Sloan was the coach.
Just to be a smarty pants, Sloan was coach at NC State. Carl Slone was the Richmond alum who coached at GW and then his alma mater.
