Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

Hard to tell from the box score how FAU beat Loyola-C by 13.  Looks like they just did everything a little better.

Didn’t see the game, but I think FAU smothered them with that excellent defense and then Goldin just dominated inside with 19 points, 10 boards, 5 blocks, 4 steals in just 22 minutes.

But I also question what Loyola’s coach was doing only playing Dame Adelkun 13 minutes. He had 6 points, 4 boards, 3 dimes in that limited time.  I expected Adelkun to be a star for them.  His rates at Dartmouth last year were insane: 64th in defensive rebound %, 105th in offensive reb % (combined rebound rate of a whopping 44.8%), 109th in assist rate, 30th in Block %, plus an offensive rating of 109 while being the 20th highest usage in the country.

I know that was “just” at Dartmouth, but how do you play a guy only 13 minutes who can put up well rounded numbers like that?

Hopefully they don’t figure it out before we play them.

Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

Things are already topsy turvey. Just yesterday Davidson over Maryland 64-61 and UT Chattanooga over Louisville 81-71. We, obviously, cannot overlook W&M today. Also not a single word yet n the Post sports section about GW since the season began. It's as if the entire University and its basketball teams just disappeared!

Perhaps there isn't much for them to destroy in the athletic department anymore? They've done enough over the past 20 years that they probably think their work is finally complete.

Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

Odd they would play Davidson and not us.
Enjoy the result, though.

Game was part of a Friday/Sunday tournament in Asheville. Second games are tomorrow, with College Park CC playing whomever lost the early game.

Davidson 65 vs Clemson 68 @ Asheville

That´s it. Go outside and get some fresh air (or stay in your cave watching the NFL)

The "crowd" at the South Carolina game numbered litterally in the dozens, not sure how much of a home court advantage they will have on Dec 1.
W. Carolina hit two ft´s with 3 secs left to beat Middle Tenn.

Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

I am traveling (and unable to access my "handle" here) for two weeks starting tomorrow, if someone wants to take over RPI duties here, it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

Villanova loses to Penn in a Philli Big 5 matchup.  Not that big of an upset since it was at Penn and these Big 5 games are always tight it seems
