Bob the fuck out

Plug one leak (SC 3 point shooting) and spring another leak (SC second chance points).

Decent start. Good to see James and Max on the board, and USC starting to miss.
Second chance points have become a problem (though they are mostly all either long rebounds off bricks or Stretch’s man when he leaves to block a shot). Need to tighten up the defensive rebounding, but no reason we can’t get back in this.

Are they really going to complain about that call, when Max got shoved in the back badly going for a board in front of the ref with no call?

Hmm. So. Carolina moves the ball around the perimter, hits the screens quickly and finds guys to take open 3´s.
Meanwhile, GW is slow to hit screens, does not switch off on defense and resorts to "hero ball" on too many occasions out of slow to develop set plays.
Lucky to still be in this.

Is Benny hurt? Surprised he didn't get any run in the first half but maybe it is a defense thing.
Not sure if he's hurt but he's in street clothes on the bench.

How was that off James? Clearly BBV knocked it out of bounds. That call was a big swing.

Exactly.

USC only 3 turnovers. Would be really helpful if we could generate more turnovers in general, but especially today.

4-24 for BIshop, Edwards and Johnson. 13-21 for the rest of the team.

Exploring every one of our weaknesses and we have no answers or realistic adjustments. Game over and very glad inresisted all urges to play this one.

So far this season, teams that can put a lot of 3 point shooters on the floor have been a problem for us. We’ve been much better we can focus on 2 or 3 guys than 4 to 5.
Have to give SC credit, though. Only 3 turnovers and best 3 point shooting game. They can’t play better than this.

Caputo frequently says that the team works on defense for most of the practice. I'm just not seeing that as South Carolina continues to drill wide opened 3 point shots.

Snarky comment of the night;
I am uncomforatble watching GW play on a court emblazoned with the words "Colonial Life". I am also upset that the University President has not taken swift and decisive action to remedy this situation, the silence speaks volumes.
(focusing on such things so as not to focus on the fact that, while able to thump Stonehill and W&M at home, this GW team is being exposed as 200(ish) RPI-level.)

Put in the bench. Lets see some Keegan and Zam.

Sadly unsurprising result. We will get run off the court if we can’t defend the perimeter and have to rely on 3’s ourselves. We are also seeing why stretch saw minimal time at Auburn. Good kid, just basically immobile amd like playing offense with four guys.

Bullshit. One bad game in our first road game - against a team having the best shooting and lowest to game they’ll ever have - does not make us 200 RPI.

And it´s official. South Carolina has never faced as poor 3pt defense in school history as they have tonight against GW. ´Nuf said.

Not a single turnover in the second half for USC and only 3 for the game (to go with 18 threes). We ran into them on the wrong day. A team can’t play better than that.

FQ That is a pretty encapsulation of this game. Bad day facing a, frankly better at the moment team. Its early and we have a pretty good shot at an 11-2 record going into A10 play. A lot of new faces takes time to gel. They have shown grit all year.
