GW vs Kansas State and Roster Construction

First game is now just 88 days away per our site

https://gwsports.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule

Tough opening game vs powerful Kansas State, very big test in the first game of our tourney in The Virgin Islands.  T-88
Big years for Trey Autry and Jacoi as the Sophs backcourt replacing The JBIV scoring express. Thoughts about Christian Jones potential??  Drumgoole looks like a really good addition via the portal.

Darren Buchanan Jr is now the crystal clear centerpiece of the program (esp with the brutal injury for Garrett Johnson, the poor guy just gets one rough break after another, hang in there GJ)  ...big time recruit Dayan Nessah will be an exciting addition. Rafael Castro is going to bring a huge boost to the frontcourt via Providence IMO.

Castro got run but not a ton of time on a very good Providence team, but we've seen that script over and over again, under-used Power 5s coming to GW and thriving, most recently JBIV and DBJR and Brendan Adams via UCONN.   Top power 5 programs ...odds pretty darn good of landing at GW in a big way.
Going back to Zeke Armwood, and beyond.   Frontcourt names from the past like Zeke and TyCavs made enormous impacts hopefully Castro will join that list of big time additions via the transfer route:
If you haven't seen Castro, he's long with incredible bounce around the rim, can finish in transition and rim attacks. Game still needs some more polish but a really high ceiling in the A10 IMHO

Castro Averaged 20.3 points, 16.3 rebounds, 4.7 blocks, 2.2 assists and 1.5 steals during his junior year of high school…Played for the Dominican Republic CentroBasket U17 Championship…

Played AAU basketball for Team Rio University…Ranked as the 30th for position (Power Forward) nationally, and third overall in New Jersey,

Re: GW vs Kansas State and Roster Construction

We will likely have played 5-7 games before playing Kansas State.  Kansas State takes place 6 days before Thanksgiving.

Thought that was a scrimmage, no?

The link leads to a content-free page. Could a non-finalized schedule have been posted by accident? (Not sure if that is as big a deal as playing the "Hey, YOU SUCK!" song, but that would be a goof).

What is official is the new AD´s introductory presser is going to be livestreamed tomorrow at 1pm Eastern at this link

Nope, Mercyhurst is now D1.

We haven't heard of one yet, but the later it gets in the summer the more likely we will be hearing about a non-scrimmage D2 game.  Let's hope for the team's sake it's not in December again.

Mercyhurst!? No Mercy on Mercyhurst lets blow the roof of if that's an actual D1 game before having to face Kansas St, who BTW has a 2MM NIL player coming off the bench

Mercyhurst is D1?  Did not... well To quote Carson "I did not know that Ed, Wild Wacky Stuff!"
