I am watching the WNBA Liberty play a Japanese team at U of Oregon on the home court of Sabrina Ionescu.  I wonder if they have/will play a game at UConn for Breanna Stewart. But there is no home game at GWU Smith Center for Jonquel Jones.  

Why? or Why not?

Cap One Center will shut done for renovations when the Capitals end their hockey season. To meet increasing demand the Mystics will play both Indiana Fever games at CFG Arena in Baltimore, as well as 1 Chicago Sky and 1 Las Vegas Aces game at EagleBank Center in Fairfax. Monumental also holds the contract to manage EagleBank - home of the GMU Patriots.

Smith Center - imo - would be a better choice for playing Mystics games than GMU. Access via metro and not a car, closer to the Mystics home court. Negatives - 5k to 6k capacity rather than the 8k to 10k capacity EagleBank..

And i have no idea what the rental costs of the Smith Center are.

Maybe if Smith Center and Jonquel Jones put on a concerted press starting now, the Smith Center can host a NYL game next season.
