Believe it or not, this year's team and last year's team have the same record (2-3) through 5 conference games, with both teams having 3 home games and 2 road games.
 
I decided to take a look at the stats of those two teams to see if there is anything that sticks out already.  There was one game in 2019 (a 91-85 OT loss to Duquesne that affects some of the 2019 data so I included the Standard Deviation calculation to account for any outliers).  Stats via College Basketball Reference.
 
Looking at the ORtg and Drtg we are estimated to be scoring more and giving up fewer points in 2020 than in 2019.  We are playing at a slightly slower pace but shooting much more efficiently (thanks to “analytics” lol). We are rebounding significantly fewer offensive rebounds but our defensive rebounding is better this year than last.  What is interesting is our 3 pt attempt % is more or less the same but our effective FG % has gotten a lot better.
 
I think it will be interesting to revisit this after 10 and 15 games because after our 2-3 start we went 1-4 in games 6 through 10 and 1-4 in games 11 through 15 with a bunch of games where we didn’t score above 60 points.
