Following the departure of Craig Jones, who resigned/retired after the two-win 2025 campaign, GW has hired VPI assistant Matt Watts as men´s football/soccer head coach. Watts will now become just the third GW head coach since 1987 and the first with no direct ties to George Lidster (who in 1989 guided GW to its first NCAA tournament win in any sport).
