The All A10 Team

With the season almost over, thoughts on the season honors?

Any other  GW candidates?

Re: The All A10 Team

With all due respect to Steve Donahue who did a fine job, failing to give Coach of the Year to Josh Schertz might be the biggest joke in the history of these awards.

Re: The All A10 Team

Castro was also hurt by the fact that he played on a team with a losing record in conference...

The fact that there is only one GW player on these lists and he is leaving at the end of the year is a huge red flag for a coach going into his 5th season, imho.

Re: The All A10 Team

Castro is one of 25 finalists for the Lefty Driesell National Defensive Player of the Year, so I definitely think he would have had a good shot a DPOY if GW had finished Top 4 in conference. Incidentally, Justice Ajogbar is not a finalist, although Tyler Cochran is:

Its clear to me that these A10 awards heavily favor the better teams.

Re: The All A10 Team

Let's just say we were force fed a lot of speculation about Player of the Year and then
Defensive Player of the year. And no one even placed on the first team.
While I think that was wrong and Castro belonged on the first team and his defense
is impressive, perhaps rather than a constant drumbeat about individual accolades, we need
to focus on team performance. Awards don't win games. The team does.
Meantime hope Castro takes this perceived slight to heart and kicks butt in the A-10 tournament.
Not counting on anything at all, but this season can't be salvaged pretty shy of anything other than
winning the tournament.
And for anyone who wants to focus on awards in the future, look at the composition of the
players and teams chosen. Generally the better your team is, the better chance of getting that award.

And the better your players are, the better your team is.

Re: The All A10 Team

BS that Slim not first team. He’s top 5 in every category except 3s.

Re: The All A10 Team

Has anyone’s game fallen off more than Max Edward’s.  He gets garbage time at Duquesne after rookie of Ty year?  His body language is the same as it was his last year at GW.  An obvious travel and he shakes  his head like he did not walk.  Just a sad case of someone never owning the feedback and using it to improve.
