So, will winning the whole NIT do one of the following regarding how you feel about this season:
1. Move the needle all the way to the right.
2. Move the needle to the center.
3. Not move the needle very much at all
I would say move it to the center. I agree with earlier posts that even if we performed to expectations, we are still likely going to the NIT and not the Big Dance; but to finish that low in the conference standings and be under 500 after nearly everyone had us as a top 4 is a real kick in the kahunas.

I would say somewhere between 1 and 2. We finished tied for 8th in conference, but due to our tough conference schedule, metrics, and NIT invitation, I feel justified believing right now that we are better than Fordham and Duquesne and therefore the 7th best team in the conference. SLU and VCU are both in the NCAAs, so nothing we do in the NIT can move GW ahead of them in my mind. But in the unlikely event that we win the whole thing, I could persuade myself that we underachieved and were in fact the 3rd best team in the conference, as Davidson (which already lost), Mason (which already lost), Dayton (playing tonight), and St. Joes (playing tonight) are all also in the NIT. Having said that, I doubt we even win tonight, let alone the whole thing, so I think at the end of the day I will have to live with the opinion that GW was the 7th best team in the conference this year.

Up 15 right before halftime as one of the guards talks trash to the UVU bench after hitting a three. Lose by 9.

Good catch GW0509.
I remember watching us win the Rainbow Classic Tourney on Christmas Day on national TV with several classmates at a bar in GTown. Finals were against a very good Wichita State team with a few future NBA players.
I was actually at the Wooden Classic in OC Cali when we went 2-1, beating a good and well coached Creighton team for 3rd place at the Pond in Anaheim.
I miss those days when we were competitive and relevant!

I must have missed the film on the 11:00 news of the team boarding the plane with their thumbs up smiles and waiving goodbye as hundreds of fans cheered them on.
Don't despair LSF. Am pretty sure The Washington Post had extensive coverage.

So many scenarios for this game.
The worst case is they have good size and come out aggressively on defense, use their skill at generating turnovers and we get rattled. A timeout comes long after the lasting damage is done. Our normal comeback doesn't ever catch fire or if it does, doesn't get us over the hill.
Medium case. We build a good lead and steadily and blow it with thoughtless play, unable to hold on in crunch time. Or survive by the title of a Thorton Wilder play. Or play like Thorton Wilder is on the team.
Best case, we exploit the schedule discrepancy, hit our 3s and then play smart. And/or use Castro and Hunger's size, strength and skills.
The 25-26 GW team's game is like a bunch of chocolates.
You're afraid to open it, in case you get a distasteful one.

The fun part of postseason play is its unpredictability. There were so many surprises when GW won it all 10 yrs ago. Besides the game winning plays and multiple contributions there were 2 plays that stuck with me. One was against Valpo when one of their bigs ran into KevLar and literally didn’t know what hit him. He looked at big Kev as if he was an alien. The other was a rebound that TyCav snatched in the middle of the lane at MSG and the sound of the grab resonated everywhere. Those two plays were examples of gaining an upper hand.
Yes this current Rev team is turnover prone, not a great passing team, and inconsistent from 3. But hopefully Castro, Hunger, and Marshall can dominate underneath. They have the size and athleticism to do it. Imo Castro and Hunger should sub for each other so as to operate more freely in the lane. Things seem to clog up when they’re both in.
May we get the best version of each player and enjoy extending the season.

Man, this crowd is negative. Let’s just hope we come to play and get more basketball this season.

Aside from the early fouls and TOs, GW looks like the more-talented team. If only there was more to the offense than dribbling and driving, like maybe moving the ball around the perimeter...

On my feed, the commercial break didn’t have any commercials

I much prefer drive and kick offense to the aimless passing around the perimeter some of our previous teams have played.

When will the TV announcers mention the fact that GW's last trip to the NIT ended well?

Castro?

They set a lot of screens and we dribble a lot

Who the hell is Brayden Howsley? 😂
Never mind, looked it up. For some reason they think that’s Garrett Johnson.

1Not a big crowd
2 They could teach us how to pass. We could teach them how to overdrive and desperation pass out.
3 Did announcers say no Hunger??? Did I miss something?

Graydon Halsly is close to Garrett’s name lol
