I don't know how anyone can take any predictions seriously right now. We have almost an entirely new team. We have little ability to assess other rosters. The game has changed significantly since transfers became central. Might as well pick wins and losses out of a hat until you see what we look like.

Normally, I'd read this and think "Aww c'mon, just have a little fun" but I think I'm in the same boat that trying to pick anything right now is indeed picking out of a hat because there is a total overhaul of the roster minus JC and JRR. Tape can be deceiving so I don't even trust any sort of preconceived notions about our transfers. This will definitely be a season unlike any other.

Here's a starting point:
Conference Outlook & Tier-1 Contenders top Tier: Saint Louis, VCU, Dayton, George Mason, and Saint Joseph's.
Five programs enter the 2026–27 campaign with new head coaches—including two programs that finished near the top of the standings last year—leading to significant talent turnover across the board.
()
Roster Moves: George Washington secured the top transfer class in the conference according to 247Sports
While Dayton added key pieces like Keonte Jones alongside returning starters Amael L'Etang and Javon Bennett.

According to the magazine, Dayton will place third in the 2026-27 season.
Virginia Commonwealth and Saint Louis, which tied for the A-10 regular-season championship last season, were picked to finish first and second, respectively
Behind the top three were: George Mason, Saint Joseph’s, and George Washington
then Davidson, Richmond, Duquesne, Loyola Chicago, Rhode Island, Fordham, St. Bonaventure and finally La Salle.
Pickett is the magazine’s choice to win the league player of the year award.

Pickett is on Wright St and the choice Horizon POY.

Yeah, he sure is. So it won't be him! At least not for The A10
Thoughts on the team Predictions?
GW picked 6th seem about right?
Any dark horse teams? Overrated?

I'm not sure which is more ridiculous...failing to comprehend that Pickett does not play in the A10 (while citing that he was the magazine's choice for A10 player of the year), or after being advised that Pickett does not play in the A10, writing "Yeah, he sure is (in the Horizon League). So it won't be him! At least not for the A10", without a trace of any acknowledgement of having made a mistake.

Taking a look at these predictions
Behind the top three were: George Mason, Saint Joseph’s, and George Washington
then Davidson, Richmond, Duquesne, Loyola Chicago, Rhode Island, Fordham, St. Bonaventure and finally La Salle.
The things that stand out how steady the top of league has been, VCU, Dayton Mason and recently SLU
and the bottom of the league, Fordham, La Salle etc.
The standout would be the Bonnies that close to the bottom
GW somewhere around the middle of the pack, slightly north of middle seems about right

"seems about right" - how would you know? Not saying your wrong but nothing in this era of transfers and unknown cohesion could seem about right in September. Or do we put this in the "seems about right" category similar to statement that Mark Few is America's Greatest Coach- seems about right to some but isn't.

From an A10 Preview on GW:
Chris Caputo’s offense has ranked third in the conference in true shooting since he arrived half a decade ago. Defense is another issue, ranking twelfth of thirteen in dBPM over that same stretch. Last season saw some juxtaposition between the two sides, as this was a team that lacked much protection around the rim.Hoping to provide some aid in the frontcourt, Andrija Vukovic arrives from Oklahoma State having shot 63% on twos and ranking among the Big 12’s better offensive rebounders relative to his role.
Dylan James, out of Georgia, provides some more on the defensive end, with strong steal and block numbers as an interior defender. Malachi Arrington, a 6’11 NJIT transfer, blocks shots at a solid rate, though will likely be much more of a depth piece, given the difference in talent between the America East and the Atlantic 10. In the backcourt, Aranguren posted a 24% assist rate and an even assist to turnover ratio a season ago, a part of their problems, with GW finishing as a sub-par turnover rate team. Andrew Phillips, in from Lafayette, averaged 14 points a game and made 28% of his team’s threes.
The Revolutionaries are a top 40 three point rate team, needing a player providing Phillips’ volume. Ryder Frost, a Notre Dame transfer, took more than 91% of his shots from three and shot 39% from outside, filling a similar role. George Washington will need its defense to catch up to an offense that’s carried the load for half a decade.

Since I know how fond Rising is of predictions based on next to nothing (or is this one perhaps based on absolutely nothing), some guy on X predicts Dylan James to be one of the conference's breakout players to watch. I have no idea who this guy is or what his credentials might be. I would say that for all I know, this could be coming from The Dude except for the fact that it was well written.
