This from junior:
Ellis McKennie @ellismckennie·51m Please pray for my father. He tested positive for covid-19 this morning. He was diagnosed with pneumonia last week but it got worse. Luckily I haven’t been around him but my mom and sister are in quarantine while he is in the hospital. All we can do is stay positive and pray

I have known Ellis for 30 years and he is one of the classiest Colonials in history, on and off the court. Get well soon, Ellis!

Ellis recently attended a GW game along with his wife and son.  His son of course was a University of Maryland offensive lineman who demonstrated great leadership in standing up for fallen teammate Jordan McNair who died of heatstroke, resulting in an overhaul of both personnel and procedures surrounding this program.   Ellis Sr. played just 5 games of the 1988-89 1-27 season before a suffering a season ending injury.  He was leading that team in scoring and assists at the time.  His final season was Mike Jarvis's first season at GW, a 19 win season which saw an NIT appearance.  Ellis ranked third on that team in scoring (behind Dirkk Surles and Sonni Holland)  and assists while leading that team in rebounding.
A tremendously underrated Colonial IMO.  Wishing him a rapid and complete recovery.

It's nice to hear what a wonderful person Ellis is. No surprise at all. I remember him as a terrific and extremely reliable Colonial. Wishing Ellis a full and speedy recovery.

Encouraging News!
Ellis McKennie @ellismckennie 56m
Today they removed the ventilator and my dad began breathing on his own for the first time in weeks! My mom even got to speak to him for the first time in 21 days and he said, “I love you, I am ok.” He’s not quite out of the woods but it appears the hard part is behind us
