Makur Maker Commits to Howard
Highest rated recruit to ever commit to an HBCU. I imagine it's the highest rated recruit by a long shot as well. Mikey Williams (another top rated recruit) is also considering going to a HBCU. Could definitely shake some things up. I for one think it's awesome.

This is huge news for college basketball/sports and may even have social ramifications(if it starts a trend of other 5-star players signing with HBCU's over BCS blue-bloods) in the future. Some blue-chip guys in the past have said they would consider an HBCU, but they never went through with it and probably weren't seriously considering it. If there is a 2020-2021 season, it's likely that the best local NBA prospect will be at Howard!! Also, Howard may have to move their games to a bigger venue than Burr Gymnasium because a lot of people will want to watch Makur Maker. I wonder how much the recent racial events influenced his decision?? Down below is his tweet announcing the decision.

Great commit for Howard if it sticks. Let me explain why it may not be as great in reality. Theory is that there may not be a season and Makur will go straight to NBA. He may never don a Howard uniform. Remains to be seen. If he is as good as some say he will be one and done in any event.

Damn...there goes one of our few easy victories. I have been hearing on sports talk about top high school athletes now considering the traditional black universities such as Howard. If that happens, we may even land up losing to Morgan State.
