New Year's Resolutions

GW Hoops family, one year ago tomorrow the new incarnation of the GW Hoops board launched.

I never expected it to replace Herve's site, but I'm glad that it has given everyone a voice and a desire to be a part of the discussion.  We've had some hiccups and I've made a few mistakes, but I am optimistic that we have (for the most part) created a healthy environment for sharing of GW basketball information, respectful debate, and (the thing I'm most pleased about) a place that I'm not embarrassed to have seen by past, current, and future GW athletes.

A year ago we had a new coach and a new vision for the program.  Who knows where will be a year from now?

I encourage you to put your honest new year's resolution for the GW Hoops program, realistic or not, of what you'd like to see happen during the next 12 months.

I'll start by saying that I would like to see Coach Christian take a major step forward with his new-look team, and that we are on the right side of the bubble on NCAA selection day.  Would love more, but my resolution is to see the team make the NCAA tournament.

Re: New Year's Resolutions

Congratulations Barry.  Your hard work is much appreciated I am sure by those who frequent this site.  Thank you for your efforts, as well as those of DMVPiranha and anyone else involved in running this site.  I hope you'll create a donate button as the cost to operate this site should not be yours alone.

My resolution is to watch a smarter, more gifted team in the near future.  Better depth, better decision making, better help defense, better athleticism, better at taking care of the ball, better at forcing turnovers, and of course, more consistent three point shooting throughout the entire season.  if these things materialize on even a semi-consistent basis, then there's no reason why this team should not be able to finish in the top half of the A10.

And needless to say but vitally important, let's all hope to see less and less Covid cases, a vaccine, and subsequently, a healthy and safe environment for watching basketball at The Smith Center.

Re: New Year's Resolutions

Ditto from me Barry.   My realistic resolution. (wish) is quite modest.  I want to see a fundamentally sound system in place (is one in which turnovers don’t outnumber assists)   in which we begin to see key pieces in place in which we can start the road back to relevancy.  And in the off chance the season is played ((I have my serious doubts, but that could be discussed elsewhere) I would like to see us beat Fordham at least once.
