GW Hoops / GW versus Virginia Tech Thread

Virginia Tech killed Davidson on Tuesday. They hit 15-30 from beyond the arc. Last year, when they beat us, they also took 31 3's and hit 16 of them. It will be interesting to see Coach' McCombs strategy on defense. If VT launches 30 3's, it will a long night for the Lady Colonials.

At least until the school enrages most of us, both the women and the men are called Colonials.

Their 6'6" center is killing us.

That got ugly quick. Strong early part of the game but we don’t have the talent to match up right now.

Another horrible shooting night. What is with GW and FG shooting the last few years?

Happy to see a defensive strategy to limit the 3's and we held VT to just 1-5 in the first half. It left our small post players on an island against Kitley and we just had no answer. Last year, with Brigham, we were at least able to somewhat neutralize her. Some slight defensive adjustments opened up their outside shooting in the second half and they lit us up. Clearly, GW was outmatched in talent, but they played a good first half, and the poor offensive showing in the second half effected the defense as well.

Here's hoping there are lessons learned.
