Quinnipiac coming tomorrow for a 5:00 PM (ET) tipoff. Yet another tough opponent for GW.

Quinnipiac is picked to win the MAAC, and has two unanimous pre-season picks for 1st team all MAAC, including POY candidate Mackenzie Dewees. They are currently 2-2, with the wins not as significant as their losses; opening day loss to Fordham in OT, and just yesterday a loss to 4th ranked Indiana in a game where they led for most of the game.

Keys will be:
* Containing DeWees (Guard) and Mikala Morris (their other All MAAC player who is a 6'2" Center)
* Getting solid play from the bench (especially if Taiwo is still out)
* And most importantly, for shots to drop

Coach McCombs has prepared the team well in each of the previous games. She has been very calm on the sidelines. So far this season, the team is playing to and sometimes above their potential, but they have a lot of room for improvement, especially offensively.

Women win 54-50.   We fell behind by 9 in the 3rd qtr, but came back.  Hit most of our FTs at the end.

GW 54-50.

Best game by GW in quite a while. Shorthanded without Taiwo or Loder, but the bench came through for the most part. A period where shots didn't drop and inexperience of some of the subs showing up, but kept their composure and wiped out a 9pt lead in the 3rd quarter.

Offense was so much better, and when shots started dropping, their confidence only grew. Great game by Gingras, and great strategy to have her coming off the bench so there's no loss in fluidity. Many contributions - Moore, Brown, and Laureano all had their moments, and Frames gave us some early much needed offense.

Defense was again awesome. Forced 32 3-point shots if which they made 9. GW was 0-5, but won the battle in the paint decisively. Overall, Quinnipiac shot 29% from the field. Props to Coach McCombs.
