Expect Hunter Dean to see his first action versus Charlotte. Final exams are this week. So once the exams are done and grades are in the books we should see him. Looking forward to seeing him play.

Imagine he will play a fair amount,at least initially.
Believe he said he likes to rebound and play in the paint.
If that's so,we really can use him,if he pans out at A10 level. And think coaches are high in him. Of course,we haven't been passing inside, but hope that will change.
We can always use a competent or more big man.

Kudos to Hunter Dean.  15 points 11 board 3 blocks vs a super talented duo of identical twins.  Incredible effort

Off a 5 block game Wednesday, Dean has really had a great week.

Talk about a 100% effort guy. Washington hasn't had a Dean like this 1974!

Well done Hunter!

I'll only differ on one thing Dude. Not so sure the Mitchell twins are that talented - at least in certain areas.

That should say *since 1974.  If only there was listening devices.

Did not realize they also played locally at Woodrow Wilson HS in DC, with Lindo?

That would be some HS Frontcourt, those 3 guys.  Rhode Island pulls a lot of guys out of DC area.

Not sure which one, but one of the Mitchell twins will go down in history to be the first big man to ever complain repeatedly to the officials while getting out-muscled by Dean. At least once he went down when Dean muscled him, another team Dean powered up over him for a score, and another Dean simply shed him while catching the ball.

Until now, Dean has not played really physically, so I’m hoping the success he experienced against a bigger stronger guy really helps the light bulb go off in terms of how physically he needs to play each and every game to put up these kinds of numbers and help the team win.

They are big-time whiners FQ. Always have been. Started whining at UMD about playing time to the point where Turgeon was like just go. They whined in HS and AAU. Ducked tough competition at times so as to not get exposed. Parent is a pain in the ass. URI can have them. Glad Hunter made them whine some more.

The Mitchell twins had to be a package wherever they went. Not quite twins in ability plus the mother was problem at Maryland. Term played better without them.

I'd take 12 points 6 boards and 3 blocks and an identical twin

After this win Dean was heard saying :"onto Nebraska and Wyoming and Nevada the Arizona and Oklahoma...yeeeee hahaha"

Thanks Free for calling notice to the RI board. Their comment about one of their players doing a hissy fit  by sitting in the foul lane area because a call did not go his way was insane. Then the announcers saying that "isn't that a 3 second violation". Never saw something like that before.

That was bizarre and ref should have acted on it.

Huge difference having Dean back.  His improvement year to year has been impressive.

Dunks, tap backs, boards, defense,   just a terrific game.

Also thought one of Bishop's coldest shooting games yet one of his finest passing games.

We were definitely worse when he was out.

We really can’t afford any injuries. Even EJ Clark is a huge loss. Hope he’s back soon.

That's for sure

We've got a top shelf A10 backcourt and yet both a subpar and too thin Frontcourt.  Clear with Dean crystal clear when he was out.

Dean's shooting 76.6% from the field, and his FT % has improved dramatically each year, now 72.2%

Dean's got bounce and size two things we could use a lot more.  The Southern Miss program he came from is 11-2 with a 137 KenPom.    He's a nice piece, we really needed 3-4 more of that on this roster to be cosistenly competitive.

We'll get there

Any idea why he only played 10’? Foul trouble in first half but not sure why he sat for so long in second half.

Hunter Dean is 4th in the nation in FG%.  #2 in the A10

He's also on the A10 leaderboard in Blocks per game, Rebound %  block %  etc

Now, we need to work on getting the ball to Hunter, and strategically, Noel, to see if anywhere near this
shooting percentage continues.

EJ Clark is out for the season. As for Hunter Dean, he certainly is essential considering we only have 2 legitimate "big" men (Ricky). However, since we have a limited number of scorers, I would encourage him to take shots beyond 3 feet and not worry so much about his shooting percentage.Dean has a nice touch and should use it!
