1) Good catch.
2) Without GW, Patrick wouldn't have been born.
Close to home so his parents can see him play every game, but just far enough so he gets a feeling of being away at college. Fits in perfectly with our needs that class year.
GW is fate and family for Patrick.

I guess I'd feel a little better about this had the tweet mentioned an offer from GWU, where his parents both played or where his parents met and fell in love.  I suppose guilting him into coming is not really a viable option, LOL.

His sister is also a very good player.

Couldn't ask for much better genes from Mom and Dad!

Does anyone know where we stand with Patrick Ngongba Jr ?   His Paul VI squad might be the nation's best, and I feel that with his impeccable bloodlines and GW connections that he should be getting super-max attention as the highest possible priority recruit.   I've always felt his dad was vastly underrated during his career at GW, and merited being a starter as an upperclassman given his talents.   His mom was simply the best ever at GW.   Do we have a chance ?

Word today is that after a spectacular EYBL Round 2 (including a 33 point, 18 rebound, 5 assist game), Patrick has been offered by Duke.

Duke offers Four-Star 2024 C Patrick Ngongba (247sports.com)

Odd choice as his blood should run Buff and Blue.
Maybe it was the name change.

What might have outweighed his blood line may have been the chance to be on a NCAA championship team.

This is someone GW should have signed in utero. I realize the concept of "legacy admissions" is going the way of the dodo bird and civil political discourse, but even if he was offered a ton of money from a school that lavishes cash on players, GW really should have sealed this deal several University presidents ago.
In any case, the way things go these days in 14-20 months he will enter the portal and GW had best not be asleep at the wheel then.

I thought GW may have missed a chance when then didn't hire his mom as the women's head coach.

@JonRothstein·2h
Duke freshman Patrick Ngongba is out indefinitely with a foot injury, per a school spokesman.
