Selection Sunday and the March madness tournament are nearly upon us

Looks like we're heading for two A10 teams according to all bracketologists

Can Dayton make a deep run into the tournament?

Prediction for the four number one seeds?
Final four teams?

Which school will be cutting down the Nets in your prediction?

Drake to the Tourney!

Question now is, will Indiana St be dancing via a bid thief?

It will be the classic fun mid major vs better “resume” P6 team debate all week.

Indiana St has a strong NET but almost all of their wins are Q3/4. 1-4 in Q1 games.

I say they’re on the outside looking in if all those MWC schools get in and a non-Dayton A10 team wins the tournament.

Agreed, Question #2 what if Drake had lost that game? Drake is 3-1 in Quad 1, doesn't seem they were even on the bubble with a loss.

These are the teams that are being pushed out to every 12-13 loss Power 5 team in possible.

Indiana St at least got their chances, not many but a few, South Florida looks like they'd be out at 1-0 in Quad 1.

If James Madison loses this game, what about them? they are 29-3 and won at Michigan State.

1-7 Quad 1 Auburn is however a 4/5 seed somehow

Lunardi now has Indiana St in his field via an at large bid.

James Madison who won tonight to lock up an auto bid  and is 31-3  with a win at Michigan St he has as just a 12 seed though.     Basically that says no matter what you do at James Madison it doesn't matter since most  of the games are in the wrong Quadrant.    31-3? Win at Michigan St?  Not good enough! better win your tourney

we'll see if Joe is right about Indiana St. Probaby not.

Miami bowing out to a bad BC team. Had the same issues as GW this year: injuries, no depth, bad defense.

Jameer Nelson Jr and TCU beats Oklahoma and will certainly be dancing

Makes you wonder how many more wins would GW have with jameer Nelson Jr and Jamison Battle on this team

Instead we played with almost all freshmen and the first four-year player in GW in nearly a decade. Lot of talent has gone out the door the last 3 or 4 seasons due to the coaching changes

JNJ left because JC recruited over him by bringing in Bishop. Battle left because JC stunk, he saw the writing on the wall, and wanted to go home. Both of those players left before the coaching change so not sure they’re your best examples. The only good player who left due to the coaching change was Bamisile and as we all know he wanted to leave city life for the country *wink wink*

If you want to make a point about all freshman, that’s fine. CC has said it was a combination of not having enough $ to get veteran players in the portal and the regulation at the time that limited multi-transfers. Some teams like VCU and Mason got lucky that their multi-time transfers eventually became eligible.

GW has plenty of money but rather use it on lawsuits and stupid unnecessary things. It's idea of bringing unity totally ignores sports. Yep, sports is useless to these people. Sad.

I’m talking about NIL $ which is separate from the school. We lost out on numerous bigs because we were outbid, plain and simple. I think Ish Massoud got something like $200k from Georgetown after he visited us. Which in hindsight is hilarious…$200k for a player averaging 5.7 ppg.

This NIL thing is getting out of hand. Keeping abreast of Tennessee sports there is a lot of talk of disgust about the University squeezing season ticket holders for more and more money. Old season ticket holders (having tickets for decades) are just giving them up. They are just burnt out by it all. At least their basketball teams are doing well.

That's not that  bad of a  BC team, they just beat Clemson 76-55, their 19th win on the  year.

BAD is DePaul, #322 bad 3-28 bad and they had a 2 point lead on Villanova with 8 seconds to go, only to lose on a 3

Villanova #32 vs #322, would not get much worse than that for a bubble team.

Kansas st beat Texas, their 5th Quad 1 win, they might have just pushed off a bubble team with that win.

As for injuries and depth, almost everyone is 1-2 injuries from a huge dropoff, Kansas got blown out by Cincinnatti without Dickinson/McCullar, Providence has fallen apart without Hopkins, Gonzaga never fully recovered from losing Steele Venters for the year.   The teams are just not built to be able sustain 1-2 huge injuries in the transfer era

About DePaul, the announcers mentioned that Villanova had beaten them by like 26 and 38 in the 2 regular season matchups, so the fact that last night's game was close was shocking. But what wasn't surprising is that DePaul had multiple opportunities to win the game at the end and I don't think they ever got clean looks, they turned the ball over on their final possession which allowed Villanova to run the clock out. I give DePaul credit for coming to New York and playing hard unlike Georgetown! What's funny about Georgetown is Cooley seemed to have a big smile on his face as his team was getting embarrassed for most of the game, he must have been relieved that the season was going to be over at about 9 eastern and he could be put out of his misery!!

Even with the injuries to Kansas, you'd expect a blue-blood like that to be competitive regardless of who is out! They also got blown out at Houston in the regular season finale. Didn't Kansas start the year as the overwhelming favorite to win the National Championship? They shouldn't be this bad even Dickinson out.

We will be a 1 bid league again this year unless somehow Dayton self destructs and manages not to win the tourney - Richmond bowing out to St Joe's today just sealed it!

Hunter Dean had a big first half for LSU in their SEC tourney opener. I think 7 points, 5 boards, a block, and an assist.  Watching him roll to the hoop off pick and rolls is a reminder that despite some of his limitations as a starting center, his athleticism and ability to roll to the hope and catch a lob gave our offense an element it sorely lacked this year.

You beat me to it. Was just about to write the same thing.   There was a severe underselling of the talent not returning and especially in the case of Dean who emerged last year as a big part of our success in the A10 schedule

He's doing this against an SEC bubble team.

We really had nothing resembling a hunter Dean on the roster this season.

Have seen several of his games this year he's completely at home against SEC front courts

UMD currently getting waxed by 40 by Wisconsin. Georgetown lost last night by 21. Obviously we know about us.

Has there ever been a worse time collectively for DMV hoops?

Ishmael Leggett is carrying (next 4 out)  Pitt to what looks like a victory over (first 4 out) Wake.

30 points 8 boards 5 steals

the amount of talent that has departed the A10 is a big issue

Wake losing by 12 this should cook their bubble chances

13 points five rebounds two blocks on 4-5 FG and 5-5 ft for Noel Brown as the bonnies beat Loyola Chicago to advance the semi-finals, two wins away from a dancing bid thief

If you put Noel Brown and Hunter Dean back on GW it's certainly not a great team but a much better team with a functional front Court.  Lost a lot of size and rebounding and guys who can finish around the rim in the front Court which we didn't really replace

My GW friend and I were discussing at the ACC tournament last night whether a team of the best players who transferred out of GW could beat garbage Syracuse or Clemson. Of if they could have won the A-10. Just nonsensical garbage that GW basketball fans discuss because they are treated so poorly by school administration.
