Moss definitely fits a need as a scoring guard who is willing to take on a high-usage role. He took 26% of W&M's shots last season, which actually would have ranked third at GW last year after JB and Max. A lot of production needs to be replaced in the backcourt so this is a good start. While there's hope that both Jacoi and Trey (Autry) take steps forward next year, there was a major need at guard regardless with both JB and Max gone.

He was a three-star recruit coming out of HS but didn't end up playing much on some mediocre USF squads. He made the most of his opportunity at W&M but Moss is very clearly a streaky three point shooter - he had ten games last year where he missed all his three point attempts in a game despite taking at least two attempts. That will need to improve otherwise teams will play off him and prevent him from taking the ball to the hoop - his preferred way of scoring. He made 75% of his FT attempts, which does signal some hope moving forward.

Still, I think a general penetrating guard is needed after JB left - neither Jacoi nor Autry seemed to do that consistently enough last year although hopefully that improves going into next year. Moss will also need to make strides defensively, but definitely part of that was playing on a team where that side of the ball was optional. He's a guard, but it's incredibly impressive that he did not record a single block in over a 1,000 minutes of action last year. We've called out JB's defense, but at least he was good for 5-10 blocks each year. On the other hand, credit Moss for playing major minutes without fouling out in a single game for W&M.

Moss made the academic honor roll last year at W&M, so by all accounts he seems like a great fit off the court. Welcome Trey!
