Free speech is dead? Very funny. Criticize the criticizers brings unity. If people want to blow off steam. just let them. Sheeeze! If people don't want to hear it anymore just don't post on this item. And your right, the most important thing for GW basketball right now is that we need some Big men. Anxiety about this is pretty strong on the board that every morning we want to see some progress on this front. It's like waiting for when the Ukrainian offensive is going to begin.

I have expressed my disappointment in losing the name Colonials as I do not believe the reason for the name change is valid. I guess if the name had to be changed, Revolutionairies is as good a name as any. My true disppointment, however, is that when I sign on to this board, I wish I was reading more about recruiting news and an analysis of the teams strengths/weaknesses for next season rather than the team name. (I am still stunned that we lost Hunter Dean). I have nothing further to say on the subject of our name however.

I guess we will have to go the Auburn and UVA route and have 2 monikers. One official and the other unofficial. So keep on using Colonials if you want to.

Its all ironic since the original petition said change the name to something less offensive like the Hippos. I may not always be really PC but I do know calling the woman's sports teams the Hippos, gets offensive quickly. Thas why the credibility of the authors should have been challenged from the start.

In my not so humble opinion-some people need to learn how to complain more-and some people need to stop complaining so much.We all know who we are.If we don't know who we are ask a good and honest friend.

No one ever even says "the Colonials" What's the short version, The Colons???

Revs is better

Its just a nickname, but its better, A lot better. Gentlemen, and ladies and the non binary.... REV your engines lets win some more games in 2024-2027 and onwards...

I keep looking to the lazy summer day when we are roused by the news that we just signed an international, graduate, or portal if any available and can be signed, F or C. Or even a Max-type rebounding guard, though prefer someone bigger.
However, since we have nothing to talk about, will take the obvious clickbait, instead of perhaps the wiser option of ignoring it.
Revolutionaries is one of the less-stupid to insane options we were given--for a very stupid idea to change the name for non-practical reasons.
That's about the best that can be said for it--or the whole pointless and expensive exercise.

It's working. It's fine. It could have been WAY worse. (I seriously thought they were going to go with hippos.)

Also, in my mind, Revolutionaries = Colonials = Revolutionaries. It's the same thing.

Agree with GW69.
Stop responding. He will eventually stop posting when it becomes evident he's having a discussion with himself. His posts have little to nothing to do with GW Basketball. Recruits do their due diligence, which includes researching everything about GW Basketball, including this site. Ever wonder why we are competing with the AE and MAAC schools instead of the P6 schools for recruits, including transfers? It's the state of our program the last 6-8 years. This board accurately reflects that!

A nickname is just a nickname. Who really cares?
But anything beats Colons, Colonoscopy, Colonials, Cols, Colons. etc etc - always a bad choice
short sighted. like the decision to fire Jamion Christian, who would have won big at GW

But CC will ... in the next 1-2 years
