look for select national schedules by sport, if the universities want to pay the travel costs, but most scheduling on a local and regional level

Very strange. I have been saying this for at least 7 years and most (but not all) here were like ... that's not going to happen. I have the receipts lol. One thing about Jack Kvancz is that he was basically right on the money years before and told me everything that was going to happen. He had a crystal ball from NIL to the final schism. It's all coming true. We will see if the last one comes true ... when the tournament/bowl money dries up for those left behind so will the scholarships.

GWRising, this is nothing more than a "just saying". Not looking for a debate.

I read the title of this thread and then saw that you gave the latest post and immediately thought to myself,
"here we go. Here comes Rising stating that he's been saying this all along."

Even on a message board, it really is OK to be correct about something without always claiming "I told you so". And, I'll say in a preemptive manner that if you'd like to argue this, then chances are good that you're missing my point. No need to respond, just something to think about.

Not missing your point and normally you'd be right Gwmayhem and I would wholeheartedly agree with you. That's generally not my style.

However, in this particular case, I recall the mocking tone by some who didn't think this was at all a possibility. And here we are. Sometimes (in rare circumstances), as the Cleveland Cavaliers motto states, you have to ... "Let Em Know".

Secondarily, it was also a shout out to our former AD who was a clairvoyant on the future of college athletics.

I too heard similar sentiments from Jack. At the time, I thought they were overly fatalistic, and I felt they reflected a premature fatalism and resignation about whether we could compete in the long term. The guy coined the term "mid-major" and I think he saw the hierarchy calcifying when I thought it could be toppled. Egg on my face.

Now? The leadership of the NCAA gave away the keys to the Power 4, the money is too significant and the power is too concentrated for the rest of D-1 to compete. Rather than pouring money into keeping up with programs that will always have a bigger money tree, I'd be very pleased to see GW in a Division 1.5 with 275 of our closest friends. Establish a salary cap-style limit to NIL to let programs compete more equitably, and let some of us show up to the Dance in March to see just how good the rest of us can be.
