Rafael Castro has been a terrific add, very impressed with his skillset and the impact he's made

One of the pieces we just had to add, so far so great with RC

10 points 8 boards 1.2 blocks on 65% shooting, 70% at the line, 6'10 with a 7'1 wingspan

So far so good for the Dover New Jersey product Rafael Castro

There is another Castro who plays center in the A-10?

He should be leading the nation in FG% but doesn't show up in NCAA stats. Not enough attempts?

I think he has one more year left. Hope we can keep him.

Looks like no one has less than 183 attempts. Castro has 179. SMH

As someone on the Davidson board said…

"How is GW going to pay 7 figures for Castro next year?"

Castro is having a great year and far better than expected. We'd be sunk without him.

That said, The Dude just put the kiss of basketball death on Castro . On December 7th, he called Jun the POY. Perhaps he can leave these guys alone now so they can continue to thrive or go back to thriving.

Actually, what he really should do is stop the constant hype train. It's tiresome and often divorced from reality.

Rising's post gave me a chuckle.
I remember when Dude (posting under various other names back then) was bragging about how GW's Nero was the best AD in the Country after being recognized by Under Armour after we won our first and last post season Championship only to be fired shortly after (for you know what). Keep the posts coming Dude, the reason I bother to come on this site - It's my daily dose of humor!

I'mt not quite sure what this graphic bases it's rankings off of, but Castro is at the top of the list.

For the season, Castro is averaging 13.9ppg, 9.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.4 blocks, on 67.7% shooting.

In confernece, those numbers are 16.4ppg, 9.6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1.4 blocks (1.35 technically) on 67.7% shooting.

That should be good enough to get him 2nd team all-conference

What statement was he trying to make? Think he was just trying to help his team win.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Raul not mentioned as a senior on Senior Night, I thought he was one. Of course, that means he could either return or move up the ladder to a bigger school.

He continues to amaze me. I believe he had 17 points and 10 rebounds at halftime Saturday. He was getting rebounds with relative ease. He was scoring facing the basket, with offensive putbacks and by posting up on La Salle defenders. He is literally getting better every week.

If we didn't have Raul Castro, we'd probably be in last place.

Who knew that Fidel's brother was 6-10 and could ball at 93?
