The transfers have checked out. I’ve seen enough of Hutchison, Buchanan, and Drumgoole to think whatever we bring in has got to be an improvement. Not sure what level Jun will be successful at. Pretty hard to watch this.

It will be very interesting to see where Hutchison and Buchanan go.  Can't imagine them going to a higher level program?

After this beat down, Jones and Castro may enter portal....

Put in the walk-ons.
Guess Boise is better than NJIT, Army or Hampton.

Not even worth Jun reinjuring himself at this point. He and Jacoi can sit.
And soon, Keegan especially and some walkons should come in.
They would have more fighting spirit--and the damage has long been done

And sorry, classless of us not to put bench in at all.
We blew it long before final minutes.
Are we worried about the metrics for this season?

Disgusting performance. Nice show guys. Now I'm convinced that people in the transfer portal should be off the team. 89-59.  Hope Caputo learned something from this. Way to end the season.

That was a real plus for the program. What a way to end a good season! Was it worth it for free airfare, room and board? I think not. Hopefully Caputo can recruit some guys that can make free throws and 3's. He certainly didn't have them this season.

Where was Hansen--not that it would have mattered!

Per Poog he was on vacation with his family.

Like LSF said, none of the portalers made me worried about losing them. I was hoping Darren would want to have good tape out there, but outside of 1 or 2 drives he was the same old Darren we’ve seen this season. Jacoi was a shell of his already declined self. Nessah I’m surprised even traveled with the team.

Tbh, I’m glad Caputo and co can now get to work on building an A10 caliber roster for next season. Weather is getting nice and I’m looking forward to hearing about players coming to visit.

I'm not going to sit here and say it feels good to lose any game game by 30, but I'm not too bent out of shape. From the second the buzzer sounded vs. GMU the only thing that matters until tip-off of next season is keeping the core of Castro-Jones-Autry-Johnson-Bevins in-tact, and adding talent through the portal. If we can land 2-3 impact guys we are in a competitive spot heading into next year and I would take that over a Crown title in heartbeat.

Can't say I'm too optimistic about Castro sticking around after Trilly indicated he would hit the portal, but that news not being official yet gives me some hope.

Good season overall. The game can be summed up by the following:
1) Turnovers. Too many of them. A disturbing amount. Most of the unforced variety. Pretty much decided the game.
2) When any of GW's players drove too deep into the paint, the rest of the team couldn't be bothered enough to help them out. Led to #1.

The defense isn't really worth talking about because virtually all of Boise's offense was generated from live ball turnovers from GW. The Revs didn't give themselves a chance, although BSU is very good and experienced. Agree with others that the portalers looked horrendous and GW will benefit from moving on from them.

Going into the offseason:
1) Need to recruit better FT shooters and scorers, especially at the guard position. Need better guards in general. Cannot rely on Garrett being healthy over a full season. It is what it is.
2) Get players who understand how to move off the ball/help other players out. Needs to happen much earlier.
3) A better rebounder at the 4 to help Slim.
4) Players with more length. Boise isn't tall up front, but nearly all their players have long arms. That really stuck out today.
5) I think the right decision was made keeping Slim, Tricky, and Ty had some really good moments. CJ overall had a good freshman year as well, but he needs to tighten up his handle and make better decisions next year otherwise he may find himself in Jacoi's position next year.

Tricky, Slim and CJ sat for much/all of the last several minutes of the game while the Jun, Hutch, Dayan and Moss stayed in. So it’s not like they sat in order to put in the walk on’s (Keegan, Amir, etc). Can we read into this that it means Tricky/Slim/CJ are committed to staying and thus CC didn’t want to risk injury for any of them on a game that was so far gone? I’d sure like to read it that way!

Unfortunately I had to miss this game because of a work thing (maybe fortunately) so no comments on what happened.

Except to say this disaster tanked our KenPom to 128.  Big fall for our final rating.

Plenty to improve next year.

Which of those 127 teams ahead of GW is worse than GW? 128 seems about right, middle of the pack in the A10 and (barely) upper half of DI.

Why was it classless? He played every healthy and available scholarship player. There is no obligation to play walk-ons. They understand the deal and it is explained to them very clearly - do not expect to play. I explain it this way to any HS players considering a d1 walk-on spot - putting on the jersey on gameday is like Halloween except you don't expect to get any candy. Sure CC could have played them if he wanted but it was not classless to decline to. Maybe he wanted to have guys experience the results of their sloppy play as a learning experience. Why make the walk-ons experience your mess?

Huh? There are 360+ D1 teams. I'm not a math major but that is close to top 1/3.

I'll live with it being classless. Why play those portaling or graduating near the very end down by 30 or approaching that?
At the very bitter end, there was nothing to salvage for this year.
These guys go to practice every day and travel.Harvey isn't even a walkon. They might try too hard to shine in their minute or two.
But they'd play hard, not act whipped, shellshocked,or like there was no point anymore. Almost impossible to do more damage than we were allowing.
Putting them in would send a message to the team also. And it's hardly uncommon in blowouts.
CC prob was so depressed it may not have been on his part.
But one of the 4 assistant coaches could have whispered in his ear.
