I decided to start a thread on COVID-19 and exclude the potential infighting on this board since we've had some major developments over the past hour. NBA star/Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has tested positive for the coronavirus, which led the NBA to immediately suspend the season after the completion of tonight's games!!! R.Gobert tested positive before the Utah Jazz were about to play at Oklahoma City a few hours ago.

The NBA also cancelled tonight's New Orleans Pelicans-Sacramento Kings game due to the fact that referee Courtney Kirkland worked Monday night's Utah-Toronto game in which Rudy Gobert played in!!

Do you guys think the NCAA tournament will be cancelled at some point within the next couple of days. The NCAA has already decided that fans will not be allowed to attend the NCAA tournament games, but it may be just a matter of time before a player, coach or student tests positive for the coronavirus, and the NCAA will need to cancel or postpone the tournament.

Actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have also tested positive for the coronavirus, while he was filming a movie in Australia.

EVERYONE stay safe out there!! It now looks like the overwhelming majority of us are on the same page of trying to contain the coronavirus, and the misinformation/poliTRICKS("This Only Affects The Elderly And People With Weak Immune Systems"/ "This Is A Media Conspiracy To Undermine Trump and The Economy"/ "This Is Just An Asian Disease"/ "The Common Flu Is A Lot More Dangerous Than This" ) will stop!!

Thomas, am surprised that this thread hasn't gained any traction considering how pervasive this pandemic is.  It's been one week since you wrote it, and rereading your last paragraph only serves as a reminder how much has changed.  To think that as recently as a little over a week ago, the misinformation you alluded to was still being promulgated by many.  Fortunately, everyone (hopefully) is taking this very seriously, from the commander-in-chief on down.

Gwmayhem,  absolutely!! The overwhelming majority of people now understand that this COVID 19/coronavirus is serious and not some sort of conspiracy led by a group of evil individuals!!  Another huge development is that a number of people who have the coronavirus did not show any symptoms of being sick, so the "Only Get Tested If You Have Certain Symptoms" belief is no longer valid. I think EVERYONE will have to get tested at this point, not just those people who feel sick or have been in contact with someone who has it.

A GW student(who lives off campus) tested positive for the coronavirus within the last 24 hours.

Thread is certainly of ongoing interest.  It may not have “caught tracttion” because maybe many posters are like me, who go right to the GW hoops section and generally overlook the “General Discussion” postings.   Hope everyone is taking this  Covid-19 stuff seriously and that we will sooner rather than later get an all clear from people  with medical backgrounds so we can maybe see some NBA playoffs, baseball and even Kenner.    In the meantime, we can work on those projects around the house that we have been putting off for far too long.  It is unfortunate that the A-10 did not shut it down one day earlier but hey....how often does Fordham get to say that won its last game of the season
