Re: 2020-2021 Schedule

This isn't necessarily GW schedule news(although it could be at some point in the near future), but the Mohegan Sun casino resort in Connecticut is finalizing a deal in which up to 35 teams can participate in bubble events between November 25th and December 5th, there can be up to 7 games per day. Mohegan Sun has a 34-story tower hotel so each team can have their own floor. I'm assuming they could also use the Mohegan Sun for the NCAA tournament. The NCAA also granted a blanket waiver on multiteam events, so teams from the same conference can be in an event and teams can compete in 2 MTE's instead of 1.

Re: 2020-2021 Schedule

is there any word on whether we anticipate some fans being allowed to attend games this year, even a very limited amount and spread out? case to case? in the case of GW has there been any announcement yet?

Re: 2020-2021 Schedule

No fans are planned for this season per a very well-placed source unless we have a miraculous disappearance of the virus. If any fans were allowed at any point, it would first be family.

There's gotta be a 4th team, right?

Re: 2020-2021 Schedule

Not necessarily The Ross-Man.  Could easily be a round robin among three schools.

I do not see the Virginia Tech MTE on Goodman's list that is or had been scheduled for Nov. 18-25.  Now that the season is starting a bit later, I wonder if this has been shelved altogether?  This was a 5 school field of which William & Mary was one of the 5 schools.  So either this is not going to be rescheduled or William & Mary may become our new Appalachian State, the rare out of conference opponent that we play twice in a season.  (I'll also add that this year, anything goes.  If we have to play W&M 4 times just to get some OOC games scheduled, so be it.  Any debates regarding whether this season's OOC schedule is too challenging or not challenging enough  should automatically be placed on hold for a year.

Re: 2020-2021 Schedule

Two years in a row at Towson?  Because last year went so well?

Away with the grandstands closed to fans against a team less than a 2hr bus ride away is no skin off anyone´s back (probably cheaper than playing at home since all GW has to do is hire the bus, not pay venue and event staff and costs). Honestly, what is the upside to playing any area teams at home this season? Heck, the excursion to Willamsburg might have been nice for the players (get out of DC, see something "historic", etc...), maybe switch that game, too?
As we are seeing with college football, there is a pretty good chance the schedule is written in sand and will change spur of the moment at some point.

Scheduling must be brutal if Towson requires a 2-for-1, lol

Re: 2020-2021 Schedule

GW18, thank you for posting this link. I feel very good that the Conference schedule is now known.  Where there is not a TV station listed, does that mean that the game will not be broadcasted. That would be disappointing, but I guess it might be too hard logistically to broadcast all the games?

Every A10 and GW Home game will be on ESPN+ if no TV is listed

Re: 2020-2021 Schedule

There will likely also be additional games televised in the DC area by MASN, MASN2, NBC Sports Washington, and/or NBC Sports Washington Plus.  These are syndicated games that would also be available on ESPN+, or are produced and distributed by Stadium.
