Good news! I was wondering whether he would be able to redshirt last year, but it appears that he opted not to (his class year doesn't say "redshirt junior" but just "senior") unless he is somehow given a year as a graduate student or something right? Don't know too much about how that stuff works. I think the rule is appearing in fewer than 25% of the games before injury.

I wouldn't be surprised if AT upped his scoring total to at least 12-13 ppg. He has improved his scoring each year by around 2-3 ppg so this is somewhat extrapolating, but maybe it will be even more if he is able to develop a consistent jumper in JC's offense. I think he will thrive as the roll man in the offense, but I wonder if his rebounding totals will be hurt by JC's style of play (historically he has not really had his team go all out to crash the glass, especially on the defensive end). AT may be the exception, especially since his strength is rebounding on the offensive end. JC also said he would like to play through the post, but I'd expect the offensive attack to be very much still perimeter focused.

Saying it would be good to have him back, would be the understatement of the year. And just feel bad for him.
The disturbing thing was the announcer said it was a hip injury today. Hoping this is the same type of statement that
came from announcer like Javier being from Rockville,

i also check some old news and found nothing about redshirting last year
if he will want to play one more year, he can still apply for a waiver at the end of the season, right?
or it's truly his last year in college?

Sorry to see Toro go.  He had such a great start to the year, including a 24 rebound game.  I don’t see him going to a school like American.  He’s far too good of a player with a needed skill set (rebounding) to take such a large step backward.  I can see him going to a good midmajor or lower level Major program as solid role player.

Disappointing to see another great player leave the team.  If AT hadn't been injured I think he would have had a chance to make a real difference for the Colonials.  Next year, with time to heal and get totally healthy, I think AT would preform like the high-end the big man we all know he can be.  But I guess it's his time to blaze a new path.  Wishing AT nothing but the best.  

Exactly. Don't know why someone who is on his way out, as opposed to current players who we have every right to respectfully comment on their pluses and minuses, would be belittled by a post here. Arnaldo gave his all. Playing hurt last season, literally playing as many games as he could before getting an operation. And at times, hurt this season. Then hugely and bizarrely underused this year. And still he won some games for us, especially one coming in only at the second overtime.
All the while dealing with a huge natural disaster that affected his home.
The type of player who was on the Athletic Leadership council.
  Transferwise, Arnaldo may choose to go lower based on his trauma at GW. But we may be surprised (actually not when you think about it) at the level he could end up, if he chooses to. He's one of the better rebounders in the country and has a GW record to show for it.
  Thanks for everything he's done. He'll always be a valued Colonial basketball and academic graduate. Best to Arnaldo and the Toro family in the future.
