Re: Joe McKeown

He needed Diane Richardson to find him some more great players.  (I was referring to Tsipis just to make the"he" clear)

Re: Joe McKeown

Big Ten is a tough conference. Joe has had recent success and has an overall winning record, but when this year started, he had only two seasons out of eleven where his team finished above .500 in the conference. His Big Ten record at the start of the season was 83-121. However, because the Big Ten is "rated" so highly, he was able to turn 7-11, 6-10, 5-11, 4-14, and 9-9 Big Ten seasons into WNIT bids.

Re: Joe McKeown

Joe's team got wiped by Maryland on Friday, but all-in-all a good season.   Should get into the big dance this year.

Re: Joe McKeown

Joe did an amazing job at GW, but in 13 years at Northwestern he's made 1 tourney, and 0 tourney wins.  As XAC notes he's 83-121 in conference play.

Joe won 18 NCAA tourney games while at GW, having only played a single NCAA tourney game in a baker's dozen years at NU has to be seen as a major disappointment, although recently things have at last gotten much better.

Re: Joe McKeown

Northwestern is not GW, so comparing his success at one vs the other is tad unfair. That said, I´d expect Northwestern to have an extended stay in the NCAA biobubble this month, they are mad good.
Joe moved to Chicago for very good and personal reasons, GW did not "lose" him or "let him go". I am glad to see he made that program competitive, which is quite an accomplishment. As for Wisconsin, maybe someone who has paid closer attention can give us an explainer on what went wrong there.

Re: Joe McKeown

One poster consistently checks his facts at the door here. Joe actually qualified for 2 NCAA tournaments at Northwestern (and won a Big10 Regular Season Championship) and this year will be a third. GW has only been to three NCAA tournaments since Joe left under 3 different coaches in the same time span.in a much weaker conference.

Re: Joe McKeown

Joe´s long legacy of having his teams underseeded continues as Northwestern is a 7 seed going up against Cent. Florida before getting Louisville in the second round.
