No updates to provide yet. Some things fell through at the least minute but JC has adjusted and is pursuing other options.

Not the news we necessarily wanted but this post in and of itself constitutes an update.
Rising, are you at liberty to say:
a) who this player is who is no longer on GW's radar; and
b) whether the reason for his not attending GW is due to academic issues, a change of heart/found another school that he liked better, or some other issue?

Was set to come but could not be admitted to GW. Rather not identify the player publicly but he was a transfer from a Sun Belt Conference team.

Thomas Bruce from Binghamton transferring. 6'9" C from DC (Dematha) played three years with an 11 & 9 plus two blocks a game in his junior season (two AEC all-defensive team selections) before a severe concussion derailed him for TWO seasons. Started four of BU's nine games last season going 9 / 6 / 2. He's been around for a loong time: He played with Markelle Fultz at Dematha.

Good find,BM.
Good stats,too.
If totally recovered and not more susceptible to another concussion more for his own sake than ours, sounds like a great fit for us.
That's a very big IF.
Online!
Looks like a good fit

It won't be Bruce. But I do think we have added another player - transfer. Should be announced soon. This one is a 6-8 wing who played at a local high school before going to New England. Interesting pick-up with a lot of upside if he can stay healthy.

Meh. Won’t call it a great get, but I’ll surely hold out hope. These were the stats posted in the recruit thread:
Statistics (from freshman year at Florida Gulf Coast): 24 GP, 11.6 mpg; 1.7 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 0.4 apg, 0.1 bpg, 0.2 spg; 25% FG, 26% 3-pt, 83% FT
(from sophomore year at Florida Gulf Coast): 3 GP, 6 mpg; 3.3 ppg, 3 rpg, 0.3 apg, 0.7 spg; 67% FG, 100% FT
Best Performance (against D1 competition): 1/9/20 vs. North Florida (6 points, 2 rebounds; 2-6 FG, 2-2 FT in 14 minutes)
So it looks like injury history, but was not exactly taking in minutes or stats at fgcu. Here’s hoping.

"Increasingly I expect more schools to take this path. Not because they're worried about recruiting all these guys. But because you've got to build relationships, on the probability that a bunch of these kids end up in the portal down the road. This is the new college basketball"
Agree with this 100%, of that 177 how many will transfer? likely a lot
