I ran across this article, and though it's a year old, you may not have seen it. It brought back a lot of memories for me, as Szczerbiak is my all-time favorite GW player. My most vivid memory about his European playing days was while traveling around Europe after college and running across an Italian newspaper that I couldn't read except for a one word headline-- "Walter!". I never did get to see him play in Europe (never in the same city at the same time), but he was well known (and beloved) wherever I went.
This article puts his European career in perspective, and the part about being a "true gentlemen" rings true with me because he was such a humble and kind athlete at GW.
