GW plays at Old Dominion University University at 6:30 (ET). There's a link to watch the game, but it'll cost $6.95 for a 24 hour pass.
Another tough opponent. ODU is 2-0, having easily defeated South Carolina State and Auburn by large margins. Their top player is a graduate transfer Iggy Allen, but they have four other returning starters from last year.
From a height perspective, the two teams are pretty even. This will be a big challenge, especially if Taiwo can't go again today. Does anyone know what the deal is with her? If so, please let us know.

GW ahead at the half 29-21. Not watching , just looking at the stats. Taiwo not playing. Moore got two early fouls, so lots of new (to me anyway) names getting time and doing well. Shooting 50% for a welcome change. Rebounds pretty much even GW 18 - ODU 19. Hope I haven't jinxed us.

Blow big lead, outscored 16-3 ? But a 3 wins it. Wow, GW wins a game!

Women out scored 16-6 in 4th, however Laureano hit a 3 with 8 seconds to go to pull out a win 47-45. Moore fouled out in 15 of play.

Thanks to late 3 pointer, disaster averted.
GW was cruising, and then just got very careless and started taking bad shots.
The good - when we played well, it was a glimpse at what GW has the potential to become. Gingras had her best game as a collegian. Without Taiwo and Ty Moore in constant foul trouble, there was more reliance on the bench than usual. Two frosh (Haydon and Ojo) got minutes and at least they didn't make mistakes. Defense was once again solid, holding a high scoring ODU team to 32% from the field (2-14 from beyond the arc) and outrebounded them 42-39. Our defense plays hard and is really good, except against height. ODU had one player (Jackson) we couldn't match up well with, and she was a big part of their comeback. If Essence Brown can bring her offense to the level of her defense, we have another Briana Cummings in the making. Tonight she held their best player, Iggy Allen to 9 pts on 3-13 shooting.
The not so good-- still offensively challenged: missed layups, bad shot selection, dribbling in traffic, and lack of shot clock awareness. Lot of new faces, so hopefully game experience will help iron some of these things out. Let's enjoy the win.
