Rutgers beat Clemson in a rematch of their NCAA tourney win over Clemson last year.
The Saint Louis win is indeed a good one, Boise St is solid. 7-1 now, could end up the league's 2nd best tourney resume after The Bonnies.
Forgot Nick Honor is on Clemson, the A10 is losing too many of its best young players to the power 5, like Jamison Battle but Fordham especially hard hit the last 5 years. Eric Paschall, Nick Honor, Chartouny, etc
Unranked Ohio St beats #1 Duke!

NC St vs Nebraska had a quasi brawl and 3 player ejections near end of regulation.
An hour later.... Quadruple OT!!

Purdue has to be the favorite to win the title this year, and Ivey is the best player in college hoops. A few guys (Banchero, Holmgren) will go ahead if him in the draft but right now this dude is the best college player (Timme probably #2)
Pounding on a good Iowa team

South Florida had a bad loss to South Carolina State on a last second made shot by the Bulldogs (I think the coach's son made the shot). I think USF might have a worse on offense than us right now. Wonder if Gregory makes it to next season. They had a mass exodus this past offseason and it doesn't seem the guys they brought in will keep them out of the bottom tier of the league currently (maybe basement).
Kelvin Sampson and his Houston squad showed absolutely no mercy against Bryant, blowing them out 111-44. I thought Grasso promised Brelsford a starting PG spot? He took one shot (which he missed) and committed three turnovers in 17 minutes off the bench. Granted it was a tough opponent, but I wonder whether Tyler regrets transferring there. GW may have benefitted with more shooting as well this year. I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but honestly I'm kind of happy Bryant got obliterated. I don't trust Grasso.

dmvpiranha, Grasso may have changed his mind about Brelsford starting after a few practices!! Lincoln Ball is also coming off the bench for American U

Rhode Island at Providence 2 CBS SportsNetwork
Northern Illinois at Dayton 2
Campbell at VCU 4 MASN
Buffalo at St. Bonaventure 4
UAB at St. Louis 6:30
Old Dominion at George Mason 7 MASN - George Mason has not won since the win at Maryland, 4 straight losses

GW had just missed on too many HS recruits going back many years.
It's painful to lose a Jamison Battle but it's more painful to be stacking the bench for the Americans of the world.
Watch out come tourney time for Houston. They're dangerous

Richmond at Northern Iowa 2 ESPN+
Fordham at St. John's 7 FS1 - former Fordham big man star Soriano is now playing for St.John's, he continues the great tradition of Fordham losing their star players to BCS schools as The Dude mentioned
Northwestern at Maryland noon Big 10 Network - Danny Manning's first game as Maryland coach. Northwestern has traditionally been a punching bag in the Big 10 but they come into this game with a 5-2 record, and the 5 wins were blowouts. Maybe the Terps got rid of Turgeon after the Virginia Tech loss to prevent him from going on a win streak starting with Northwestern??
Georgetown at South Carolina 7 FS1 - Georgetown has stumbled out of the gate this year(they lost to St. Joe's, in addition to Dartmouth in their opener), an embarrassing loss at a lower-tier SEC team like South Carolina may cause some Georgetown fans to call on the school to pull a TURGEON on Patrick Ewing!!

#20 Florida, is losing to winless Texas Southern at home, by 16
7 minutes to go, for one of the upsets of the year

Excellent Villanova vs Cuse game going on like days of old. Nova a few minutes into the 2nd half broke the school record for 3s attempted, they are already well into the 40s of them, with a lot of time left. took 28 in the first half!
Boeheim who seemed like a very old 40, now seems like a very young 77. Once getting some of the best NBA bound talent for a very long time, the last 10 years he's had perpetual bubble team talent. But still churning on, and with some really good NCAA upsets to boot.
Watching Villanova fire away almost all 3s is pretty amazing, wonder if that's the future of hoops, since we're heading in that direction.

UMBC at Georgetown 8:30 FS1 - Darnell Rogers(remember him!!) is UMBC's 2nd leading scorer at 13ppg. UMBC won at Pittsburgh by 10 and has blowout wins over Columbia and American U. With the way Georgetown has struggled with everyone, this could be a tough game for Georgetown
Towson at #21 Ohio State 9 ESPNU - Towson's last game was a 15 point win(73-58) at Kent State. Terry Nolan Jr is their 3rd leading scorer at 12.9ppg
19 Michigan State at Minnesota 9 Big 10 Network - Jamison Battle and undefeated Minnesota start out conference play with tough matchups with Michigan State tonight and at Michigan on Saturday.

Go Darnell !!

Jamison Battle has 17 points 7 boards 2 blocks vs Mich St.
Undefeated Minnesota is down 7 and making a run
TNJr has 10 dimes and 7 points as Towson hung late with Ohio St, Chase Paar is getting some run on Towson too. Good team could win that league.

29-24 for the NJ boys, upset alert brewing
The other NJ Boys, Seton Hall have a huge upset win over #7 Texas. Texas began the year ranked #2 but lost to Gonzaga, and now Seton Hall, which also beat Kansas. Huge resume wins for the Pirates.

Delaware is 9-3, Jameer and Dylan Painter look like a good bet to take them to the tourney.
Obi Toppin 19 points and 10 boards in 23 minutes tonight. Yuta was playing for Toronto.

Rutgers had been struggling coming into the Purdue game(they lost to UMass and by 35 at Illinois) so its good to see them pull of the historic upset. A poster on here mentioned the struggles that former NBA great Penny Hardaway is having coaching Memphis, they lost again last night, 74-72, at home to Murray State after blowing a 14-point halftime lead. P.Hardaway has yet to make the NCAA tournament despite bringing in highly rated recruits, I'm not sure what they problem is
Temple at St. Joe's 1 ESPN+
Penn at La Salle 1 ESPN+
St. Bonaventure at #15 UConn 4 ESPN2 - St. Bonaventure HAD the perfect opportunity to go on a 19-20 Dayton type of run if they hadn't lost to Northern Iowa by 10 but they can still get back in the top 25 if they win this game
Boston College at St. Louis 5 NBC Sports Washington
Toledo at Richmond 6 MASN
VCU at Old Dominion 8
Syracuse at Georgetown noon FOX - both teams have been inconsistent this year
Minnesota at Michigan 6:30 FS1 - Michigan is unranked but they have the talent and ability of a top 10 team so this will be another tough matchup for Jamison Battle and Minnesota, they did show a lot of fight in the Michigan State loss

Thomas, I was just wondering if these new age players and the new NCAA rules may make some teams un coachable. A lot of old time coaches are just bailing out. How can you get players to buy into a team concept if they just think of themselves. If I don't get enough playing time I will leave. Penny Hardaway just has too many players who have NBA ambitions. Too many fine lines with players have to be addressed and there are very few coaches that know how to do that. Our teams are an example in that the coaches just allow way too many turnovers in the games so far. Many are terrible unforced turnovers that have led to a lot of losses. In the old days these repeatable turnovers were not tolerated by a coach.

Gtown vs Syracuse. On the one hand, has two Boeheims and one Mutumbo on the court.
On the other hand, for programs that produced Ewing, Coleman, Iverson, Carmelo, Mourning, what's happened here?

The fans of some of these schools are to blame too. Shaka Smart said at UT he was more or less told to sign as many 5*'s as he could even if they don't all fit well together. In the old days talent was much more evenly spread out so you could actually construct a team. Now some of these BCS teams are 3-4 deep at a position so of course there's going to be a lot of movement and demands for instant gratification for those that do transfer.
