Where would we be without wishful thinking?
Feel free to discuss 2023 Recruits here.
Targets
Kwame Evans, Jr. (Offer)

On the old board(or maybe twitter), I saw that Kwame Evans Jr. is considered one of the top prospects in his class with interest from the likes of Duke, Kentucky and Kansas. We know it's a great PR gesture(especially for those who watched Kwame SR play for GW in the 90's) for Jamion Christian to offer the son of an all-time great GW before he starts high school, it will be interesting to see how Kwame JR develops over the next 4 years. Does he remain an elite/5-star prospect who goes to a blue-blood or straight to the NBA? Does he end up at GW?
The 2 recruiting sites(verbal commits and 247sports) I checked do not have rankings for 2023 players yet, the 2022 rising sophs are the youngest players they rank. I assume when the sites start ranking the 2023 players, Kwame Evans Jr. will be highly ranked. He plays for Carmelo Anthony's AAU team(Team Melo) and will attend Poly high school in Baltimore.

Yeah he's already getting Duke interest.

No doubt it's worth recruiting Kwame Evans Jr. His stock could drop a little and the Dukes of the worl could back off in two years or something fluky could happen, at which point maybe we become the perfect fit.
I suspect that's somewhat what happened with Jameer Jr. Christian recruited him even though everyone knew he was going to play for Martelli, I guess because you never know. Then, of course, Martelli gets fired, Jammer and his dad love Christian, and he chooses GW over Georgetown.

My son played against Kwame Jr in the Baltimore CYO league. If he bulls up his slender frame during high school (probably happen) he will be in high demand. Even for a 8th grade student, smooth handle and athletic. Was not awkward like other tall 13-14 year olds

BM, thanks for the link. That was the article I saw on Kwame Evans Jr.
This should be fun for all of us to watch the development of a young phenom type of player with GW ties. It's good that Kwame Sr is around to block out all the NONSENSE(greedy outsiders sending him from school to school) that can occur with highly touted high-school players.
PKGW, do you know how Kwame Jr ended up at Poly? I'm not that familiar with Baltimore schools, I know Poly has a good basketball program, are they considered a powerhouse? I always assume that any 5-star player entering high school in Baltimore will end up at a powerhouse private school like Mount St.Joe's or St.Frances.

POLY has turned into a state power recently winning the last 3 state championships in their division. They are also returning 4 starters

Alright, that makes sense why Kwame Evans Jr. would play for Poly. I'm more familiar with the Baltimore private schools because they always play against D.C. area teams and they produce a number of college players each year.

Brief writeup on Dante Oliver:

Coach Bousley just followed George Washington III, a pretty good prospect in the class of 2023 that has interest from a number of high-major programs. Washington plays ball in Kentucky and is originally from Texas.
Thought it was worth mentioning if only for the name. He is destined to come here!
