Well, they had Yuta there in crunch time at the end of a close game tonight. And his defense and ball movement helped Brooklyn win-- and was noticed by the announcer.

Post Game press conference.... Nash comments on Yuta start at 1:45 of the video.

As the Nets continue their implosion, huge opportunity for Yuta to get some strong game tape. Nash's comments solidify what we already know from ML guys like Tyler, Pato and Yuta - players who are smart, receptive to coaching, and work their tails off. Would love to see Yuta get what has eluded guys like Pato and Tyler - a stable contract and some job stability in the Association.

Exactly--and certainly in the case of Tyler and Yuta, they earned it. Players with less performance have had better contract deals. A lot of it at the non-superstar level, seems to be who you know or timing. In Yuta and Tyler's case, ill-timed injuries played a role, but doesn't account for all of their struggles. And both came back from them.
While he might not be a superstar, last night, Yuta proved he can be a valuable part of the rotation with his game on the line.
Yuta has already earned his place in the NBA and hopefully, that will be recognized.

Nets fired Steve Nash today. No idea what that means for Yuta

I know that GM Sean Marks and interim coach Jacques Vaughn are high on Yuta. Hope that's a good sign.

Yuta with his best personal game of the season
10 points (2-3 from 3)
4 rebounds
2 blocks (2 offensive)
+/- of -12 (not great)
Some highlights:

If a player promoted birth of a nation or a movie that blames Black people for the Holocaust, I suspect the league would do something rather than ignore it like they are doing with Kyrie.

For those not watching the games: As much of a shit show Brooklyn is right now, Yuta is totally making the most of his opportunity! In the last couple games he's been a 6th/7th man and playing critical minutes in close games. Defense is really setting him apart. If he could create shots off the dribble he would be a guaranteed starter. Most of his points are opportunistic put backs or open 3's.

Fantastic performance for Yuta, I'd suspect his chase down block is getting a top 10 Sportscenter

Nets are in town playing the Wizards tomorrow night. Hope CC and the gang showed Yuta all the love.

When I visited GW University for the first time in a long time after coming to DC, I almost cried because I remembered how hard and desperate I was to study because I couldn't speak English, how I shot alone every night, and how I cried all the time in the locker room after the game because I was frustrated that I couldn't win easily. And everything is connected to the present.

As some of you have pointed out, the Brooklyn Nets season keeps getting worse and worse, they aren't playing well as a team, Ben Simmons appears to be a shell of his former self, Steve Nash gets fired after 5 games, its rumored that they are going to hire Ime Udoka and Kyrie has gone Kyrie!! I think it's possible that Kyrie could be suspended for the season at this point. We're all happy that these events should open the door for Yuta to get more opportunities, but this can't be a pleasant experience for Yuta! However this season this plays out for the Brooklyn Nets, Yuta will have a very interesting story to tell in the future about his 2022-2023 season in the NBA!

Well, I stand corrected. The nets (not the nba) suspended him indefinitely and put out a strong statement. I still think they would have moved faster if a play was super racist instead of anti-Semitic, but they did the right thing.
Hopefully Yuta can keep showing off his skills and keep improving. He belongs in the NBA, on the court.

Great picture!
Says a lot about Yuta. Gotta help with players and recruiting to have someone who's playing
significant NBA minutes come visit.
Hope his teammates pass to him in scoring position for a change, and Yuta shoots well tonight.
He has earned his place, no matter what happens in this game or a few games. A smart, great-defening
valuable player. And amidst all their dysfunction, the Nets realize it.
One writer even referred to Yuta's signing as a potential "steal" for the Nets.

HUGE game for Yuta, electric performance tonight
