Maryland struggling at Michigan- 13 points at the half!!!!
It was actually a double-header of Maryland and Georgetown getting their A$$ KICKED on FS1, I would've posted it on here beforehand if I knew. Maryland lost at Michigan, 81-46 followed by Georgetown losing at home to Butler, 80-51. Georgetown and Maryland losing on the same network right after each other is probably a first. LOL Georgetown's Big East/BCS losing streak still remains intact! Georgetown lost one of their leading scorers (Heath) to a broken finger before tonight's game, he'll be out indefinitely so winning any game is going to be a lot harder now. This game against Butler appeared to be one of the few winnable Big East games for Georgetown and they just got dominated, mostly in the second half.

As I mentioned weeks ago, MD is not a top 20 team. The only top 20 team at MD is the women's team.

Rutgers beat #1 Purdue on the road!
The GW trio strike again!!
The Scarlet Knights, in the Pikiell era, have defeated 14 ranked opponents, upset a No. 1 team for the first time in school history and now they've done it again. Rutgers appears headed to a school-record third straight NCAA tournament

unranked Kansas State hangs 116 on #6 Texas in Austin!
Woah
The most points ever scored by an unranked team vs a top 10 team in history

unranked NC State pummels Duke!! 86-60

Duke also got hammered at Wake Forest earlier in the year, Jon Scheyer is having some difficulty following in Coach K's footsteps.
Georgetown has now set the Big East record for consecutive regular-season conference losses at 25, following last night's 73-57 loss at home to Villanova. Patrick Ewing is now 26-68 in Big East play. What's sort of funny is, there doesn't appear to be any sort of urgency among Georgetown's higher-ups, things keep getting worse and worse, and everyone is acting as if things are fine.
Rutgers host Maryland tonight at 6:30 on the Big 10 Network

Chris Beard has been fired by Texas amidst a felony domestic violence charge.
In other news, Shaka Smart has led Marquette to a 12-4 start, KenPom ranking of 17, and an adjusted offensive ranking of 6.
Be careful what you wish for.

Well Rutgers just beat MD 64-50 and forced 20 turnovers. Pikiell's crew can really defend but MD is vastly overrated - just don't see a lot of talent there. I think the Kevin Willard quick turnaround story is headed to the circular file. He has a lot more work to do.

Rutgers KenPom is #13
Kentucky is 16, Duke is 23
Imagine that just 4-6 years ago

Since he can't seem to tell us, I will:
GW's KenPom is #199 - guess we should be happy it's not still in the 200's.

4 years ago on this date, our KenPom was 275
6 years ago, it was 133.
So, CC's brought us halfway back after the bottoming out under Mojo with only 1 guy he recruited to come here. Seems like we're headed in the right direction.

Remarkble job by the GW Trio on the banks of the Raritan
Pikiell has to be in early consideration for Coach of The Year honors

Oklahoma with a nice OT win against Texas Tech last night. Bamisile once again didn't get off the bench. Hasn't played since December 17 where he was on the court for 7 minutes. Has to be brutal for him

So far, not a great move for Bamisile in hindsight unless there's money or music growth involved.
His style of play may not work for teams like Oklahoma or VA Tech.
But for us, would rather have Max.

Surprised Cal beat Stanford by 22 the other day. I think Mark Fox is probably on his way out, but Jerod Haase is not talked about enough as a guy who does less with more. Stanford on paper looks like a team that can make the NCAA tournament every year but Haase always finds a way to underachieve.

Georgetown is about to tip off with Seton Hall at home on FS1, they've lost 26 STRAIGHT Big East games and are missing 2 of their leading scorers(Murray and Heath) for this game.

Whoa! Who would have thunk it? South Carolina leading Kentucky. Bob Tallent was correct… get the hell out of Kentucky and get to GW.
