Ask Pops Mensah-Bonsu about what GW can do for a basketball player from London.

Just don't ask Marcus Littles about what GW can do for a basketball player who played at Neumann Goretti.

24/7 High School Hoops@247HSHoops2023 F Sultan Adewale has seen a major rise in his recruitment the last month. Adewale told me West Virginia, SMU, Vanderbilt, George Washington and Evansville are reaching out the most. Had 15pts, 6rebs, 3blks and 2asts for @Hoopsfix last month vs. Bronny and Sierra Canyon.ImageNeumann-Goretti Basketball and 9 others4:35 PM · Sep 14, 2022·Twitter for iPhone

CBB Europe@CBB_Europe🇬🇧 2023 6-8 F Sultan Adewale capped off a great @IolaniClassic with 17 pts and a hard fought win in the title game His interior presence and constant production on the offensive glass gave Neumann-Goretti a huge lift throughout the whole tourney @SultanAdewale12 @NGSaintsHoops12:00 PM · Dec 23, 2022

Few teams boast the prowess of 6-8 senior big man Sultan Adewale, the London native who is avg. 12.9 points and 9.9 rebounds this season. He has three double-doubles including a 11-point, 13-rebound outing against Devon Prep followed by a 10-point, 12-rebound game in a win over Lansdale Catholic on Friday. When Adewale has been doubled inside, he has been able to find 6-6 junior wing Amir Williams (10.5 ppg) and 6-2 senior Bruce Smith (6.0) for open jumpers in the corner.

Caputo is doing a fine job with recruits and transfers so far. That said, I'm sure he's realizing that GW ain't Miami or even Georgetown in terms of clout or money. Hard work and a bit of luck are still needed to bolster our frontline. If Mason can get an Oduro we should be able to also.

Just remember, Mason had an Oduro, but they don’t always have one. That said, there is a tradition of landing a VERY high level big every few years - from Yinka to Koul to Pops to to Diggs to KevLar and Zeek to Cavanaugh (and even Colin smith looked like he’d join the list before he transferred). Our previous two coaches struggled to land the high level bigs, but I’m sure CC will get names to add to this list even if it takes a couple of years.

We have a lot of PT available for bigs but Iona's roster got completely gutted after Pitino left (last time I saw think only one guy was left)
