Here is how some former Colonials did on opening day:
Noel Brown (Bonnies) 26 minutes (off the bench), 3-3 from the field for 6 points; 3 rebs, 1 blk and 4 fouls.
Hunter Dean (LSU) 10 minuntes (garbage time?) 0-0 from the field, 1 point, 2 rebs, 1 assist and 1 block
Qwanzi Samuels: (IUPUI) 22 minutes, 6 points (no three (all from the field)), 7 rebounds.
Jameer Nelson (TU) 26 minutes, 14 points (6-8 from field, 2-2 from three), 6 assists, 3 rebs, 2 blocks.
Chase Paar (Towson) 11 minutes, 1 point (0-2 from the field), 1 reb, 2 blocks
Lincoln Ball (American) 28 minutes, 3 points (1-7 from field, 104 from 3), 3 rebs, 3 assists
Jamison Battle (who recently celebrated his 40th birthday) Ohio State, started, 32 minutes, 3-8 from field (2-7 from 3), 9 points, 7 rebs, 2 assists, 2 turnovers.
And a special shout out to Brayon and JoeBam, who left for greener pastures (or so they thought) and are now sitting out a season although not injured,
Who am I leaving out?

Jamison Battle’s departure still hurts (loved his game), but I am at peace with the rest. I wish them the best, but I have moved on.

A Shawn Walker Jr sighting. Outstanding.
And the one guy Jamion could not convince to come to GW, Jalen Pickett, is playing (sparingly) for the Denver Nuggets. I really wanted that guy.

I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing guys play at three different schools (or more).

Edit - I guess the NCAA ruled Bamisile was not eligible to play.

I can’t believe Shawn Walker is still playing in college. I think he’s 24 years old.
That Noel Brown line seems about right for 26 minutes against a team the level of Longwood. I wish him the best, except when he plays GW, but I’m surprised Schmidt recruited him for those kinds of minutes.

There is a kid in D3 at NYU Spencer Freedman who started playing at Harvard who is playing currently at 25 (June 1998 birthday). He didn't start college until 19 after playing an extra year of HS and is now on his sixth season of college basketball. 5 years of high school/prep basketball plus 6 years of college. Wow.

Hunter Dean and LSU lose at home to Nicholls. Dean finishes with 2 points, 1 rebound, and one foul

Last I checked Jabari West Jr sat out another season while at Midland University. I wonder if he will ever play a game in college.
