Missed creating this yesterday. Only 9 games on the slate on Friday, but the one to watch:
#13 Dayton @ St. Louis 7 PM ESPN 2 Dayton is only a 7.5 point road favorite! Unless Dayton's current #1 ranked offense nationally is shut down, I don't see how it stays that close. SLU will have to be better from the line.
Other games to watch include Wisconsin-#14 Michigan State (7 PM - FS1). The Spartans haven't been great this year compared to preseason expectations, and the Badgers have improved of late so it could be closer than expected. Siena-Canisius (7 PM - ESPN+) for those who want to see how Coach Carm is doing. Should be a good battle between two NY teams that are pretty comparable. Another MAAC showdown in Rider-Niagara (7 PM - ESPN+) to see how Coach Paulus is doing (and will also include some minutes from Shandon off the bench). Furman-Wofford (7 PM - ESPNU) could be an underrated mid-major SoCon duel. Wofford beat UNC earlier this year when they were healthier, and Furman is one of the best mid-majors in the country. Finally, we have #19 Michigan-Iowa (9 PM - FS1). Howard has done a good job so far in Ann Arbor, but Iowa is at home and if they can play a bit of defense they could pull off the "minor" upset.

SLU is winning and can win this game and absolutely get a NCAA Tourney bid with the right A10 Path
at 15-3 with a win here, they'd be well on their way
They'd for sure, have to finish strong, but surely feasible. This would be a huge step.

Dayton has a KenPon of #5 to give you a sense what a computer boost this win would be for SLU
VCU is top 50, Rhode Island close to the top 50, at 62,
this could help slide SLU up closer to that territory

Yeah, this would actually be a "good loss" for Dayton because St.Louis now looks to be legit. I wasn't sure about how good St.Louis is because they are prone to having terrible shooting games, but they've pretty much dominated Dayton from start to finish and now lead by 13 with about 7 minutes left
I wanted to re-post something from Merrick(on the previous Other Games thread) here that a lot of you may have missed. Frank Martin benched Jair Bolden in their last game, in which South Carolina knocked off #10 Kentucky. I believe the guy who replaced J.Bolden in the starting lineup scored 26 and hit the game winning shot at the buzzer.

Tremendous game, both teams played outstanding defense that was a lot of fun
really high level OT thriller of game capped by a buzzer beat in OT

The announcers kept saying how the Dayton-St.Louis game had the feel of an NCAA tournament game, there were a lot of twists and turns, Daytonn went up by 5 after trailing by 13 late in the game due in large part to Toppin, Dayton then missed free throws and committed careless turnovers which allowed STL to send the game to OT.
La Salle at Rhode Island now on NBC SportsNetwork
St.Bonaventure at VCU 2 CBS SportsNetwork
Richmond at George Mason 2:30 on NBC SportsNetwork
#5 Butler at DePaul 1 on MASN - I assume that DJ Williams will make his debut for DePaul here
South Carolina at Texas A&M 1 SEC Network - Will Jair Bolden still be in Frank Martin's doghouse!!
#6 Kansas at Texas 2 ESPN
Purdue at #17 Maryland 2 ESPN2
Marquette at Georgetown 2 FS1

Jair with a huge game 19 points. Good for him to take the challenge from the Coach and perform

Richmond wins, again. Now 14-4 (4-1 in the A10). What happened to the yabbos who put up a billboard calling for Mooney´s head?

Shaka's Texas team is getting smoked, blown out of the gym by West VA.
This should be Shaka' last year, it just isn't happening.

Side note, what a coaching Career Bob Huggins has had.
Not exactly Mr Personality, but his players love him and they fight like hell for him. And he's loyal stays forever turning aside a lot of big offers, 17 years at Cincinatti, has been at West VA nearly as long. a combined 30 years, at those 2 schools alone.
Lot of fun to watch Press Virginia play basketball

North Carolina leads all game, but loses in double OT.
There’s a GW tie in here. Tyrese Radford hit the game winner on a runner with 0.4 left in double OT, his first two points of the game.
It reminded me of Vaughn Jones beating Xavier in double OT with the coast to coast running one hanger, his first points of the game.

I remember we used to call Huggins Thuggins, so he wasn't liked around GW in my day.

North Carolina is 8-10, and already has legit zero chance at an at large bid.
They've had injuries but that is stunning nonetheless.
Gonzaga is #3, Dayton is #4 and SD St is #8 in KenPom, in what has been a stunningly great year for the Non Power 5s and a real struggle for a lot of traditional powers.

14-5 VCU and 13-5 Rhode Island, inside the top 60 gives the A10 3 solid chances along with lock Dayton.
Richmond Dukes and SLU, are all around 15-4 and all inside the top 90.

Penn St wins on the road at Michigan, they are in the top 20 KenPom and look like a virtual lock to be dancing, barring a collapse.
We played this veteran core when they were young and they looked incredibly talent at the time

GW should have kept the series with Penn State going, it's always good for GW to have a year-to-year "rivalry" with a BCS team, even if it appears to be a weak BCS team who only wants to play GW because they recruit the D.C. area. Penn State looked to be a ho-hum opponent when GW agreed to play them, but they kept getting better each year GW faced them.
Rutgers lost a close game at Iowa last night, but the big story is they are ranked #24. The last time Rutgers was ranked was 1979!! I hope they win their next game so they can stay ranked.
Dayton is now ranked #7 and crushed St.Bonaventure, 86-60 last night. I didn't realize they were ranked that high. Is a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament possible for Dayton if they go 18-0 or 17-1 and win the A10 tournament??
Offline
Absolutely a #1 seed if Dayton rolls through is in the cards, no doubt T.
Rutgers game I heard was a great one! close finish! the GW duo has turned it around big time in NJ!
Offline
The GW duo is technically a trio (Steve, Karl and TJ).
Offline
A little under the radar but SD St is 20-0 and Ranked 4th in the Nation (AP)
Dayton, Gonzaga, SD St, what a year for the best of the non Power 5s
Offline
The GW Duo at Rutgers does it again! down goes Purdue!
that's 15-0 at home, the longest streak of any NCAA drought for a Power 5 is certain to come to an end!
Karl and Pikiell have ended a near 3 decade run of futility! brilliant stuff from the GW Duo
