Now that's more like it! Aranguren seems like a great fit as an international guy, but also someone who can split ball handling duties with Tre (he was 71st nationally in assist rate). Unlike Dinkins though he seems to be more of a presence defensively. He has notably played sizable minutes on two defensive first squads. Tobin's Iona squad will always look to press, but Speedy's Hofstra team was quietly in the top 100 in defensive efficiency (Per KenPom).

Aranguren also brings rebounding to the table on the defensive end. He had a defensive rebounding rate of 16.4% this past year, which is pretty impressive for a guy 6'3". That will fit right in with Autry, who showed great effort on the glass in the second half of the year. He is also a solid free throw shooter, but more importantly has a fairly strong ability to draw fouls (4.6 fouls drawn/40 minutes). No guard on the Revs had a mark 4.0 or better last season.

If there's a concern, it's that he fared poorly against Tier A+B competition, where Aranguren's offensive rating was quite a bit under 100. He wasn't the most efficient in conference play either, but Hofstra had like no one to turn to besides him and Cruz Davis. As shown in the "notable performances" section above, he also showed well against some teams at GW's level this year, such as UNC Wilmington and Charleston. The hope is that he fares better than the CAA transfers did last year.

Welcome to DC Jean!
