Shaka's Texas team lost by 30 today to woeful Iowa St. Iowa St came in 10-14 and 3-8
Texas is 4-8 in league play. KenPom is 86. They are way off the bubble, have to figure this is the last year of Shaka at Texas?

Iowa State also lost their best player(a guy who could be a lottery pick in the upcoming draft) for the year prior to this game against Texas. It looks Shaka Smart is really on the hot seat now. Maybe he can take the George Mason job if they fire Paulsen!!
#9 Maryland is playing at unranked Michigan State right now on ESPN2. They are up by 13 with a few minutes left in the 1st half. They barely beat a terrible Nebraska team at home during the week, but have come out strong at Michigan State today

Haha! Would be a good fit probably! Man, it is just not happening at Texas for Shaka.
Conversely, Turgeon has powered Maryland near the top of The Big 10.
5 of the last 6 years, team has been tremendous.
20-4, 10-3

The GW Duo does it again at Rutgers, huge win over 22nd ranked Illinois.
You can put those dancing shoes on Rutgers, they are going to need them for The Madness

I realize they've had injuries (who hasn't, join the damn club) but man, how does North Carolina go 10-15???

Shandon started and scored 17 points (6-10 FG, 1-2 3-pt, 4-4 FT) to go with 7 rebounds and 2 assists in Niagara's 77-72 home win against Monmouth. Happy is getting more playing time at his new school. Paulus has done a great job taking over the Purple Eagles under tough circumstances. Pretty much all the MAAC teams look the same to me, but Carm's Siena squad might be a step ahead. It would be cool to see the two former GW assistants face off in the MAAC conference finals depending on how things go.

That's impressive stuff by Shandon, would be just a true Sophomore.

Carolina had yet another meltdown tonight against Notre Dame. Up 15 midway through the second half and lost again at the end. It's almost comedic at this point. Who would have guessed we would have more wins than them at this point in the year?
Honestly, I wish this happened to the Dukes, Kentuckys, and Kansases of the world every now and then so the fanbases understand what it feels like to actually have losing seasons and not go in knowing they are locks to make the NCAA tournament before the season even starts.
Some good sophomores on the ND team, including one that made the game winner. Brey has had some bad injury luck on recent teams, preventing his Irish from getting to the tournament. Hopefully they will be able to get back to the NCAAs next season.

Isn't North Carolina among the bluest bloods! I would prefer any of those other 3 though too, haha.
At 16-10 does Notre Dame have an at large path with a strong finish?

Long Suffering Fan in Atlantic City bets St Joes over Davidson, getting 7.5 points...for first half. At the half, Davidson up 19. LSF killed on his bet. Final...St Joes wins by 1.
Offline
LSF, I just saw the end of that game. St.Joe's was missing their best player Ryan Daly and somehow was able to overcome the big deficit and win. What made you bet on St.Joe's in this game??
The final sequence of this game was crazy because it looked as if the St.Joe's player double-dribbled on his 3-point attempt, but his shot was blocked, he then passed it off to Cameron Brown who knocked down the 3 with less than a second left. The St.Joe's players were celebrating after the 3 and may not have realized that Davidson did not have any timeouts left and had to inbound the ball immediately. Even the camera guys were following the St.Joe's players celebrating and not Davidson's final shot attempt.
#6 Dayton is playing at VCU right now on CBS SportsNetwork

Does a VCU win over Dayton put them in the tourney?
Offline
The Dude, it probably would since Dayton is ranked #6
Maryland was up by double-digits at halftime over Northwestern, who is 1-13 in Big 10 play, Northwestern has pulled to within 4 midway though the 2nd half. Northwestern's best player is a guy who was playing lacrosse for the past 3 years, and joined Northwestern's basketball team as a grad transfer. This game is on the Big 10 Network.

Thomas....I didn’t think Davidson was that good and St Joes was playing a bit better. My instincts were good but I mistakenly thought I had a better chance of St Joes sticking with them for a half rather than whole game. I also took Dayton giving 3 at VCU and Creighton getting 3 at Marquette

Dayton wins at VCU.
Dayton is a total juggernaut, just steam rolling through a vastly improved A10.

I was ready to propose a name change to Long Suffering Gambler but after a 2-1 night, those plans should be put on hold.

Didn't Lunardi say that if your a sub .500 team in the ACC and the other BIG Conferences it should be no impediment to being in the NCAA's. NCAA keep twisting the requirements for the tourney to suit the Bigs. Gotta be a way to stop this shit.

Amir's former team Nebraska is having a tough year under first year coach Fred Hoiberg, but there was a cool moment in their 21 point home loss to Michigan State. Tom Izzo started Hoiberg's son, Jack who is a sophomore on the Spartans. Sometimes it's more than just basketball and that was classy by Izzo.

Creighton beat ranked Butler 81-59.
What a great job Greg McDermott has done with Creighton huh?
