It's always nice to see a local product come home! This is a big-time pickup. Witherspoon started 25 games for Pitt as a freshman. While the Panthers did not have a particularly great year, Omari should a lot of promise - especially on the defensive end with his length. The efficiency was not there as a freshman (38% from the field, 29% from 3), but it was just his first year of CBB and he is coming down a level which should help. GW was definitely in need of an alpha scoring type player given all the players that have departed.

It's also good to see that two of Witherspoon's best performances came in the ACC tournament, putting up 30 points between two games. Hopefully he can find a way to get to the line more at GW, because he only averaged about two a game at Pitt. Omari also did some nice things as a passer, but his turnovers (2.4 per game) were a bit high. In that way, he would have been a good fit on this year's team lol. Overall, Witherspoon definitely seems like an all-conference candidate in the A10 next year.
