Re: The Transfers Thread

The next step in all this money madness is for players to just play basketball and not attend class. How on earth do they keep up with their studies if they transfer every year? Tutors can only do so much. This NIL stuff will end badly.

As I understand it, we currently have no bigs for next year. Not good!

Your understanding is wrong.  We just got Dylan James from Georgia.

Re: The Transfers Thread

Bubu headed to ODU. One of his better games was against the Monarchs (13 points on 5/11 shooting) so I guess they liked what they saw. The Sun Belt is probably a better level for him.

Re: The Transfers Thread

Just two days left of portal activity.  According to On3, only 30% of players in the portal have announced commitments. Many more dominos to fall. Would be interesting to hear a post-portal update from the staff for season ticket holders.

It’s just two days left to enter the portal, but I believe schools can still sign players after the 21st.  We don’t have to have our whole team in the next two days.

All I have to say at this point is lmao

Sam Kayser @KayserHoops 23m
NEWS: Villanova forward Tafara Gapare is entering the transfer portal, his agent Corey Marcum of @EZSportsGroup told @LeagueRDY. The 6-foot-9 forward played in only 9 games this season. Has also spent time at Maryland, Georgia Tech and UMass.

Somewhere, Joe Bamisile must be blushing.

Is it at all possible that Hunger stays? I see no one has picked him up yet...

First, not saying it can’t happen, but considering the fact he has taken visits to BC and Stanford I don’t think it is out of the question that he transfers up.

Second, players have until tomorrow to enter the portal. That doesn’t mean they have to sign by then. Luke’s agent could be playing the long game here. Seeing where the best offer comes from after the very top tier of bigs all sign.

Possible but not yet likely. We are also close to getting a shooter forward from ACC.

Hmmm.  Appreciate the hint.  Only names I can think of that fit that description are:

1) Tyler Betsey from Syracuse (could make sense given the Autry/Caputo connection)

2) Timo Malovec from Miami.  Very good international player. Miami connection.

3)  Sam Walters, SMU (previously Michigan and Bama).  This guy looked like a future star as a freshman role player at Bama, but it hasn’t quite come together as a bench player at three P4 teams. Maybe he wants to go a little lower to hopefully stsrt?  No particular reason to think he would be interested or that we’d be connected to him.

4 Jason Asemota, BC - I don’t know anything about him, only played a few games as a freshman. Seems to be a shooting forward.

5) Stanford guys - Stanford has multiple shooter forwards, but I don’t know who is in the portal or any teams any would make sense.

And I’m sure there are others I’m not thinking of, don’t know that they are  in the portal, or didn’t consider a shooter F.

If I were a betting man, I’d bet the field over the names I listed above.

Re: The Transfers Thread

I'm thinking someone like Ryder Frost from Notre Dame. CC has connections in Massachusetts. Has good size and can definitely shoot it.

That’s a good shout.  Missed him when scanning rosters. And more likely to go A10 than most of the guys I mentioned.  I’m sure there are more like him I missed.

Also missed the Betsey commit.

Re: The Transfers Thread

Wow, lot's of school and player shuffling happening in this wild wild world of college hoops.  Good luck Vinny even though I never knew you.  What's the latest on CJ?  Curious how all these pieces to the puzzle shake out at all these schools and what exactly the Revs will morph into.
