You won’t believe what CJ got to play at Murray State.

Best of luck to Christiane certainly has some skills. Agree it's intriguing, to be polite. But wonder if he got less money or more money? What does 2twotoed know?
Imagine he could have stayed, but money from us would be a question. Had more overall upside his freshman year, though his corner 3 shooting was impressive for awhile this year.
St. Louis would have been equivalent league and potential plus if they play like last year. And they certainly have a good budget.
Whole story would be interesting, whether a cautionary tale or some kind of money/expectations thing.

He followed the money. Way more than GW would pay.

As LSF and I saw in the Caymans, Murray St has a very active fan base that probably translates into a lot of collective money for transfers.

This is a great move for Christian. As I've frequently pointed out, Christian seemed to be at his best against inferior to comparable competition. Playing at a successful program in a lesser conference should enable him to shine. In addition, Javon Jackson entered the portal while seeking a 5th season of eligibility. Jackson is an extremely high usage player who I don't believe Christian would have gelled with. With Jackson leaving, NIL funds freed up and if Christian is now better compensated than he would have been at GW, then this is a no-brainer. Hoping to see him have a first team all-conference season for Murray.

If he wasn't going to get any opportunities in leagues better than GW, better to go down a level and just put up stats. He is arguably in a better position to transfer up to the P5 next year than had he stayed at GW.

Murray State is in the Missouri Valley Conference as of the 22/23 season. In their first year under a new coach last year, they finished in fifth and made it to the NIT. Definitely a step down from the A10 in caliber but he'll get the opportunity to be more of the main guy while making more money. Good for him. I hope he enjoys living in Murray, Kentucky. I hear it's the Paris, France of southwest Kentucky.

2twotoed, Thanks for the response.
How much did Christian get?

Strong rumor is north of $1 million including incentives.

Crazy. Good for him and his family I guess if true.

Appreciate the responses.
Christian has a good amount to offer and even more potential if he finds the right position
on the court, though it may not be as a pure PG.
But over a million?
You can put incentives in player contracts in college?

Good for CJ. I couldn't imagine money raining down on me when I was an undergrad. Wow, I guess Coach Miller was impressed when Christian had 14 pts. 0 assists, 2 turnovers when they beat us by 1 in Caymans.
Will be most interested to see how CJ progresses under Miller. Didn't realize he is the brother of the decorated Mike Miller who had a 17 year NBA career with back to back championships in MIami.

Lot of good transfers remaining
Here's a guy who could be an intriguing addition
Tijan Saine Jr., 5-foot-10 junior guard, Weber State
A Division-II walk-on turned Big Sky scoring champion, Saine Jr. is as adaptable as they come. The transfer point guard operated Weber State’s offense, leading the team in points (17.5 per game) and assists (4.3) on the way to all-conference honors. He was also the team’s most reliable free throw shooter (89 percent). Saine Jr. is scrappy and undersized, but physical — as a junior, he racked up steals and thrived on fast breaks.
Forme UMASS star Jaylen Curry is another one who could be a great addition

ODU may be worth keeping an eye on for next year. Zam recently committed there and will be joining Bubu. Mike Jones (who?) has been underwhelming as a coach though since taking over there.
I think that leaves Jacoi as the only former GW player still uncommitted.

Am not making this comparison attitudinally, but Jacoi's college journey is starting to remind me of Brayon Freeman.
