It prompts a series of questions: Guess the biggest question is whether we will have a season. Or if we do, it will be a good idea for much of the here age group here to view it in person?
Secondly with almost everyone disappeared from a couple of years ago, how will the recruits and new faces mesh? Will the transfers live up to their high school potential in a way not seen from them in college? Will previous injuries that may have affected their game, hurt them? This year, will the coaches figure out the best talent on the court early on? Will Bishop get the waiver we are all looking forward to seeing him receive in order to play this year?
Third, who will come back from a couple of injuries last year?
Fourth, How will the freshmen turn out? A particular question as we may not see Kenner, which would seem to be likely as of now?
Fifth, What will be our identity and strategy? Will we shoot markedly better from the 3? Sloan certainly can shoot in practice and shot 37 percent from deep at Siena. Will we have at least a minor sustained version of Mayhem, unlike last year? Will we change up defenses? Contest our own FT rebounds? Hit the boards? And is it good for us to do what most teams do, or not? What is the analytic approach tailored to this particular team?
Sixth. If there is a full schedule, what kind of OOC challenges will we have? How will the A-10 be this year, a year after having a likely and deserved No. 1 seed?
 Seems like this could be the hardest year in a long time, for all these variables basketballwise and non-basketball-related.


 

Noel Brown shoots like SirValient and rebounds like Mike.

Mike Brown played at GW in the early to mid 1980's and was a great player with a particular penchant for rebounding.  After playing professionally in Italy, he went on to have a 10 year NBA career with the Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz.  SirValient Brown was a Tom Penders recruit who never met a shot he wouldn't take.  As a freshman, he finished second in the country in scoring.  As a sophomore, things started to spiral downhill both on and off the court.  He left GW after that season.  He is arguably GW's most prolific scorer ever (ironically playing for two seasons alongside Chris Monroe who is the school's alltime scoring leader).
