I took my Schnauzer (now 10) by the campus yesterday and it looked quieter than I expected. Thought I'd see lots of kids and lots of masks, instead I saw only a handful of students and (mostly) masks
Hard to see GW allowing fans in a few months, but maybe 2021?
That being said, what does out TV/streaming options look like?

There has been no word yet on GW's schedule.
On an interesting note, URI and Providence will not be playing one another this season. Both AD's attributed the difficulty in finding a mutual date due largely to Covid restrictions. The two schools have played one another at least once for the past 86 consecutive years.

On a somewhat related note, the NFL's Tennessee Titans have had 3 players and 5 staff members test positive for COVID. I bring this up to say that College Basketball needs to have a bubble environment for ALL games if they want to have a season. At this point, I don't see anyway possible that you can have a normal schedule of 4 or 5 games a week where schools travel to and from games without positive COVID tests causing chaos. The college basketball season starts in a little less than 2 months, they have enough time to set up bubble locations for every game.
The Dude, I'm assuming that the TV/streaming schedule would be like the NBA's where they'd just do local and national broadcast from the bubble locations. I'm hoping for a local bubble where the games would be televised on the local stations(MASN, NBC Washington, etc.) here.
GW0509, Georgetown dropped out of the Wooden Classic, but I'm not sure if its for COVID reasons or Ewing doesn't want to his inexperienced team to get clobbered by some BCS teams!! LOL If I were GW, I'd be trying to create or get into bubble events like the one Louisville set up.

Any confirmations on our Non-Conference schedule?
Offline
I suspect we will hear something in the coming days. From the D1 Docket’s twitter feed, it seems a TON of schools are signing on to MTEs hosted by power conference for the non-conf.

Mason, Howard, UMBC, and Northeastern are playing in a MTE in DC

This is a dumb question, but I've got to ask, what exactly does MTE stand for, I know the 'T' is for tournament, but I'm not sure of the 'M' and 'E'
It seems as if College Basketball wants to have a normal season without a bubble. With what we're seeing happen in the NFL and college football, I don't understand their thinking. I'm assuming the travel, staying in hotels, going back home/ to campus and participating in "every day activities" is what causes the outbreak. Why would college basketball want to follow the NFL and College Football, and not the NBA?? It's a lot easier to play basketball in a bubble because you have a lot less players, and can have multiple teams play multiple games in a day. Does college basketball really want to have a regular conference schedule and risk a COVID outbreak causing schools to postpone 3 or 4 games?
Who is going to be the host team of this bubble event in D.C.? Mason looks to be the biggest name. Where will this event take place?

Multi-Team Event

It actually stands for Multi-Team Event. Scheduling them impacts the maximum number of games a team can play. Obviously this season doesn't have those concerns due to a bunch of games being eliminated due to COVID.
Here is a good article that explains how the MTE impacts scheduling:

Things have been scheduled and rescheduled so this may be partially old news. GW is scheduled to compete in a 5 school MTE to be held on college campuses. We host Tennessee State on Nov. 20. Also in the field are William & Mary, Marshall, and Virginia Tech. Am unclear as to whether this will be a true round robin (GW plays each of these schools or 4 games between Nov. 18-25) or whether fewer games will be played. My guess is a true round robin so as to schedule as many OOC games as conveniently as possible. I could foresee GW playing at Virginia Tech who they had been scheduled to play (in fact, it's doubtful that Va Tech will be traveling at all for this.)
It's very unusual for a MTE to have 5 schools; these are almost always tournament formats where either 4 or 8 schools are participating. The organizers must have felt that it would be more prudent to have a 5th school and schedule an extra game for each school. Makes sense.

Nothing definite but hearing the following:
South Carolina
Delaware
Towson
Howard
That means there are 3 others to be filled.

I wonder if they will end up having that entire MTE down at Virginia Tech as opposed to spreading it out among all the campuses? A lot of MTEs are going to that route. Just makes travel better during the COVID situation.

GW Men's Basketball @GW_MBB 6m
When college basketball returns, it will be eight months and 13 days since we last saw our great game. Yes, we're counting. We're honored to be on center stage and national TV when the ball gets tossed up again. #R1SEWITHUS

How awesome!
GW will be opening the ENTIRE college basketball season at the Academy.
Bravo to coach Christian and staff for getting this one lined up!

Beyond cool.

Besides the fact that this will open the season for everyone, this the first meeting between the Mids and Colonials in over a decade.
First meeting was in 1907. GW currently leads the series 21-20.
This is GW’s first time playing “at the yard” in nearly 40 years. Awesome scheduling move!

From the Athletic Department:
"Mark your calendars! On November 25th at The Yard in Annapolis, Md., George Washington men's basketball and Navy will join for the seventh edition of the Veterans Classic. The game will air live CBS Sports Network at noon and serve as the first game of the entire college hoops season nationwide. We are really excited for this matchup and the start of the season. If Navy is able to host fans at the Classic, details will be announced at a later date. The remainder of GW's 2020-21 schedule, including non-conference and Atlantic 10 action, is expected to be released soon."

Awesome! It's been hard following everything going on around college basketball this year. I was under the assumption that the Patriot League had canceled their OOC games and aren't slated to play until at least January - I guess Army and Navy don't need to follow those rules? Seems like a cool event to be a participant in.
Navy returns senior Cam Davis who was their leading scorer at 16 ppg last year, and also brings back a couple other impact juniors. Defensively, the Midshipmen play a lot of zone so hopefully we have learned our lesson from the Fordham games last year! We should get some nice looks from deep. Offensively, Navy isn't really much of a three point shooting team - no one really shoots better than 33% from behind the arc and as a team they were among the worst in the country. They don't have really any rim protectors either and ranked towards the bottom in blocked shots as well. The one thing they are good at which will be the key to the game is rebounding - Navy is one of the best teams in offensive rebounding. Preventing second chance opportunities will be something to watch.
Navy played George Mason to open the season last year and took the Patriots to overtime. GMU ultimately prevailed, but this will definitely be a good early test - I believe we played them in the secret scrimmage last year?
