So much for GW-Navy being the first game of the season - we're not even the first A-10 team to play! The Bubbleville at Mohegan Sun has SBU-Towson at 9am and then URI-Stephen F. Austin at 11:30 -

ESPN lists four OOC games, Navy on Nov. 25, W&M on Dec. 5, Towson on Dec. 7, and South Carolina on Dec. 14. Is that it?

I get how unusual this season is given the pandemic, but isn't it a bit weird that the season starts tomorrow and we only know 6 non-conference games? Even weirder, GW has only announced Navy and South Carolina. Shouldn't a full slate at least be announced?

This would have been a great year for the DC schools to mimic the Philly 5. A 1 year respite from the egos and hurt feelings and whose hone court it is etc...Sorry to se that even at a time like this we can not put aside past and have GW Georgetown, Maryland, Mason play each other. No travel makes it Safire for the teams, no fans make the venue less important.

You are right but mainly one school has been the issue to something like that. Big John may be gone (may he rest in peace) but Hoya Paranoia appears to be part of his legacy.

PKGW and GWRising, you guys are right, a D.C. bubble would be PERFECT at this time when you consider that we are now experiencing the cold-weather COVID spike that many predicted months ago. I can somewhat understand Georgetown and Maryland being cowards during a normal season(it probably is very embarrassing when "little brother" beats "big brother"), but having a bunch of local teams playing in 1 place seems to be the only option for every school(locally and nationally) to get games in. There doesn't appear to be any COVID issues with the local schools(GW, Georgetown, Howard, American U, Maryland, George Mason, Navy, Loyola-MD, Morgan State, UMBC, etc.) so why not have an event with 10 or 12 local schools and get a bunch of games in???
The fact that COVID is causing several teams to back out of games and tournaments, do you guys think its possible for GW to be a last-minute replacement in certain tournaments? Would JC accept a last-minute invite to a tournament? I'm thinking we will reach a point where tournaments will start making calls or putting out social media posts looking for schools to play the day before or maybe even the day of the tournament.

Is the next game really not until Dec 14 (as per the official site)?

Towson has paused all basketball related activities due to a positive COVID-19 test, per release.
Monday's game will definitely be cancelled. Can we pull together a new opponent in two days?

We are also showing Delaware for next Friday. Is that a recent addition?

The game vs Dull/Aware was announced at the same time as the Coppin St game.

If I read my GW basketball history correctly, we are 6-3 against UMBC. Although, 0-2 at UMBC. Only loss at home was in 1-27 season. It will be interesting test because UBMC is surely a better than Coppin State.

According to Kenpom, GW has 2 of the conferences 3 "bad losses".

Coppin State is 331 in KENPOM. The only reason they aren't dead last at 357 is because the put up a "good fight" against us.
