Drumgoole 0 for 8 from 3. GW 5 for 24 from 3. Our 3 point offense not so good when we can’t make 3s. No surprise

Can someone explain to me how that's not an And-1 with 2 minutes left in the game to tie it up? He gets fouled while going up, regathers and puts it in.

Also, another game where horrible FT shooting could be the major difference in the game.

Caputo not calling a TO when we have the last shot is baffling. He had two left so might as well.

Castro has been awesome for us all season, but hard to look past those 2 missed FTs to win the game.

Yeah. It sure is hard to win shooting 20% from the arc. That’s when a coach is supposed to change the gameplan. But he never does.

Half of all practices this week should focus solely on FTs (I'm exaggerating obviously but it's a real issue).

KIND OF a fun game. --But tuff loss, though.

There are plenty of reasons to be frustrated with this loss, but this game was the first all season I felt we were for real (and I was at the Dayton game).

The team has definitive warts (FT, 3 PT, and TOs to name a few), but this may have been the most complete game I have seen from this team all year (and in all of Caputo’s time at GW). The defense played 50 solid minutes of basketball. The announcers kept wanting to praise Mason’s impeccable D, but had to keep caveating it with how GW’s may have been better today. When they mentioned us as one of the top 3 defenses in the A10 in a league with VCU, I did a double take.

The reality is, that since the start of A10 play, our defense is keeping us in games (URI, Dayton, and today are perfect examples). Do I think we can win the A10 with the way the team is currently constructed? No, but I think we now can play with anyone in the conference and will be a very tough out come tournament time (something I had zero belief in during the early part of OOC play). I hope I am proven right.

Tough tough loss. Castro missing those FTs felt like when the Commies' kicker missed the extra point against Dallas. The biggest takeaway after 5 games is that there are no teams we should be 9.5 point underdogs to in the league. Fingers crossed Gerald can find his 3 point shot again.
