GW got a visit from Gerald Drumgoole, Jr.

Drumgoole averaged 13.9/3.8/2.4 for Delaware last season.  He scored 12 points against us in the Bahamas and could've scored more had he not gone 1-7 from 3.  If I remember right, some of those misses were key for us in our comeback.  He averaged 15.7 ppg for Albany the year prior and started his collegiate career at Pitt.

Kinda crazy, Drumgoole was actually offered by Mojo in high school.

Where'd you see this?

Looks like a good compliment to Castro, as he appears to be a 3 point threat. Would also seem to have 2 years of eligibility due to the lost Covid year.

Only 1 year of eligibility since Ivy League players don't get an additional year of eligibility from the year they didn't play (which is dumb imo). Also I'm pretty sure we have 3 remaining scholarships, not 2 since Benny is turning pro (https://www.instagram.com/p/C5yZJmgsdsP/?igsh=MWRyNWV5YW12MXVqcQ%3D%3D). It's 13 scholarships for men's basketball, right?

Scholarship players for next year as of now:
Hansen
Harvey
Castro
Johnson
Buchanan
Hutchinson
Autry
Weluche-Ume
Jones
Bevins

We apparently have 10+ recruits coming on visits in the next week or so. Haven't seen any names of players visiting but hopefully good news is coming soon

Another walk on or a scholarship player?

Jamie Kaiser Jr. from UMD has entered the portal.  Was a one-time recruit of JC before blowing up on the AAU and HS circuits.

George Mason may have the inside track on this one given Tony Skinn's connection at UMD.

We've reached out and the tweet that mentions us doesn't mention Mason.

Asjah Inniss in the portal. Not a huge surprise since she participated in Senior Day but still a hole to fill

Happy the A10 won both their games today but I will admit I picked against both Duquesne and Dayton in my brackets. If you picked both of them to win, come to the window and claim your prize (a free ticket to GW's home game against No One's Heard of Them State A&M's Frederick satellite campus).

Thanks to the wins GW gets their share of the NCAA tournament "units" that are distributed to teams in the same conference as teams who win a tournament game. I've seen conflicting reports on how the money is distributed, but I believe we get a little over 12k each year for the next six years because the A10 got two wins. Obviously this isn't anything close to program altering money but it's another angle to March Madness that I think is fun

I've made a document tracking the offseason with current players and coaches along with every player we've reached out to in the portal. Let me know if there are any errors or changes I should make. I'll be constantly updating it throughout the spring.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1aNbyeufISRsFZmJtaoQsAokwGG6vsGo_pHo6TQtUWS0/edit?usp=sharing

We've already reached out to 29 players, which is just insane considering it's been less than 3 days. I recognize reaching out to someone doesn't mean that we have any serious interest in him but the sheer number is jarring. For comparison, last year I counted 26 players that we contacted in total.

So far we've contacted 15 guards, 9 wings, and 5 forwards/centers.

I am under the impression that Keegan will be returning. Although I agree with the premise of your post and I'm hoping the staff targets more experienced players in the portal rather than doing what they did last year

The confetti is released with 18 minutes left in the game as the ball is in play in the A10 championship. Incredible. No notes

Would love a replacement for Bishop with more positional size than Bishop has

Really frustrating 4th quarter, described by McCombs as probably their worst quarter of the season. Definitely lots of holes to fill this offseason. We'll see how well the staff can utilize the portal (and crucially if they can keep Robertson). I'll echo what BC said in terms of thanking xAC for the previews and recaps. Always very helpful when preparing for a game or reviewing one.

Very refreshing to see this team finally win and I'm glad they were able to stop the streak, especially considering it was senior night. I've seen them doubling big men throughout conference play but they've continually gotten burned by bad help defense and good passing from opposing post players. The difference tonight is they made Venning (and Noel, who we know isn't much of a passer) uncomfortable and forced them into bad passes, especially to open the 2nd half.

I know we won when dude posts during the game.
Also, didn’t see any complaining about the refs.
If we can beat the Dukes in Pittsburgh can we stay out of the play-in game as the 15th (and last) seed?
This thread shows the few GW fans left have given up on this season - like the players. Just 2 1/2 page thread on this game. Siena has only won 4 games all season and they still draw 4-5 page threads on games.

I'm glad that someone is finding the positives in this season

For every P6 team who refuses to play GW even at home, I'll bet there are at least 5 who would happily schedule this game.

This seems like a crazy assumption to make and I disagree
